Por ello, hoy en día es común conseguir estaciones de carga con puertos USB en cualquier lugar: en los aeropuertos, restaurantes, parques, estaciones de tren, en los vagones del tren, en los autobuses, etc. Pero, ¿es seguro utilizarlos?
Pues, todo parece indicar que no son tan seguros e inofensivos, al menos no para aquellos que se toman en serio la seguridad de la información. ¿Sabías que al utilizar los puertos públicos de carga puedes ser víctima de "Juice Jacking"? no lo digo yo, hasta el FBI ha lanzado una advertencia al respecto. Pues resulta que estas estaciones de carga de puertos USB pueden ser hackeadas para cargar algún tipo de malware que dé a los piratas informáticos, acceso y control sobre tu dispositivo, y así conseguir robar tus credenciales de acceso y datos privados.

Did you know that when using public charging ports you can be a victim of "Juice Jacking"? I'm not saying it, even the FBI has issued a warning about it. It turns out that these USB charging stations can be hacked to load some type of malware that gives hackers access and control over your device, and thus steal your login credentials and private data.

¿Y por qué solar? porque en caso de quedarte sin batería, podrías resolver el tema de carga aprovechando la energía del sol, sin importar si estás en la calle, en la playa o caminando en un parque. Así, en lugar de usar estaciones de carga pública, que es un súper Red Flag, usarías tu Power Bank.

Hacer un unboxing siempre es emocionante, especialmente cuando se trata de tecnología. Al abrir la caja, lo primero que vemos es el PowerBank Plochy modelo ExpressE1 en un su respectiva bolsita, y justo debajo encontramos el manual de usuario y un cable micro USB.
En apariencia y tamaño, no es muy distinto a un PowerBank convencional. Lo que lo diferencia es que tiene en la parte superior las placas solares. El diseño es bastante minimalista, sin demasiados botones que distraigan la atención, apenas tiene un botón de encendido, dos puertos de entrada y tres de salida.

Doing an unboxing is always exciting, especially when it comes to technology. When opening the box, the first thing we see is the Plochy ExpressE1 PowerBank in its respective bag, and just below we find the user manual and a micro USB cable.
Well, in appearance and size, it is not very different from a conventional PowerBank. What sets it apart is that it has solar panels on the top. The design is quite minimalist, without too many buttons that distract attention, it has just a power button, two input ports, and three output ports.

En cuanto a las salidas, son tres puertos USB-A de 5V/2.4A (Max), es decir con una potencia de carga de 12W cada uno, los cuales pueden funcionar en simultáneo.
Incluye también un LED que cambia de color dependiendo el nivel de carga que tenga el dispositivo en ese momento. Si está entre el 0% y el 40% de carga, se ilumina en rojo; si está entre 40% y 80% lo hace en color azul; y si está entre el 80% y el 100%, entonces cambia a una luz blanca. De esta manera, sabremos si el PowerBank está en el nivel adecuado de carga antes de salir de casa.

Por lo que, incluso en el manual de usuarios se recomienda solo como una medida de emergencia y no como una forma de carga regular para el dispositivo.
En lo que a tamaño y peso se refiere, es casi del mismo tamaño de mi celular y apenas poco más de 100 grs de pesado, aunque si es el doble de grueso. Las dimensiones exactas son 16 x 8 x 2 cm, y el peso aproximado es de unos 350 grs, de manera que es bastante cómodo para llevarlo siempre en la mochila o en un bolso de mano.
