🏡The Cabin in the Woods (Epic Camping Trip!)🍻

As I reacquaint myself with parents and dance instructors, I also have time to ignore their boring ramblings and bring some more exciting pictures and memories! And yes, this is the amazing giant spider post, scroll down now if that's what you're waiting to see, but if not, take a few minutes to experience the rest through my eyes.

Welcome to 'Camp David', named after the owner. I was surprised to find this on Hipcamp but learned how off grid and remote it actually was. No electric, septic and quieter than almost every other camping site (except Love Joy Falls) than I have been to. Was a nice 'guys weekend' getaway for sure.

While I fired up the grill, my oldest began challenging the crew to chess matches. Overall, I think I was 2-2 losing for the first time ever to @b34w0lf! Think I had too much to drink. Ha!

Because, fuck you, I'm drunk.

The next day, we went hiking! We went to one of the taller waterfalls in the state called Ozone Falls. It has a few claims to fame, one of them being, it is where part of the 'Jungle Book' was filmed! It is gorgeous and not a hike for the faint of heart or people with acrophobia so, live vicariously here if that is you!

After some relaxing beers and 5 bottles of whiskey and Bailey's, it was time to eat again and normally, I have great food shots for you but, I was a little drunk and hungry. Ha! I did, however, become very interested in the funga and flora about the place, which will have to be their own posts at some point, and the local wildlife. Introducing the star of this entry - the Green (Marbled) Orb Weaver.

This was hands down, the most ginormous orb weaver I've ever seen. It may have been a world record. Legs stretched out, it could easily clutch around half of a normal sized 4 inch diameter apple. Tip to tip of its legs? Probably 6 inches long. That last picture, shows how big the abdomen was, and despite being a shorter fella, I have large hands and fat fingers. Absolute beast of an arachnid.

I think the bears we were warned about were even scared of it, because they never showed up. Or maybe they heard an apex and couple alphas were in the area, who knows? Great trip though, and would totally go here again. And finally, REMEMBER TO BE YOU! I always am, even while teasing the venoms.
