Yesterday I watched the beautiful movie ¨Wild Robot¨, since I saw the trailer for this movie a few months ago, I knew that a movie was coming that would give us a lot in terms of characters, with wonderful animation by Dreamworks. But I couldn't help but notice how the themes we see here are similar to the South Korean animated movie called ¨Daisy a hen into the wild¨ a movie that marked me since I was a child.
Ayer vi la hermosa película de ¨Robot Salvaje¨, desde que ví el trailer de esta película hace algunos meses, sabía que vendría una película que nos daría mucho en temas personajes, con una maravillosa animación de parte de Dreamworks. Pero no pude evitar como los temas que aquí vemos son parecidos a la película animada surcoreana llamada ¨Daisy a hen into the wild¨ una película que me marcó desde niño.
First I will talk about ¨Daisy a hen into the wild¨, this movie is about a free range hen that has the desire to be free in what is known as the forest, asking herself every day why she can't be free. Although, in a series of circumstances that happen with a couple of ducks, the hen does something that she never had the opportunity to do, which was to hatch an egg from the ducks, since she had been left alone after the death of her parents.
Primero hablaré sobre ¨Daisy a hen into the wild¨, esta película es sobre una gallina de corral que tiene el deseo de ser libre en lo que se conoce como el bosque, preguntándose cada día el porqué ella no puede ser libre. Si bien, en una serie de circunstancias que suceden con una pareja de patos, la gallina hace algo que jamás tuvo la oportunidad de hacer empollar un huevo de los patos, ya que había quedado solo tras el deceso de sus progenitores.
On the other hand, we have the Wild Robot, a helper robot whose only mission is to complete the tasks that are ordered to him. After getting lost on an island, he lives with the animals of the forest, just like in the other movie, this robot after having a mishap is forced to carry out the task of being a mother.
Por otro lado tenemos el Robot Salvaje, un robot ayudante que su unica mision es cumplir las tareas que se le ordena. Luego de perderse en una isla, convive con los animales del bosque, al igual que la otra película, este robot luego de tener un percance se ve en la obligación de realizar la tarea de ser mamá.
While both films feature a father figure for the little protagonist, we see an otter and a fox, who in themselves have no romantic relationship with the mothers at all, but play an incredible role in being the father figures, being an important detail in both stories.
Si bien en ambas películas se ven una figura paterna para el pequeño protagonista, vemos a una nutria y un zorro, que en sí no tienen relación romántica para nada con las madres, pero desempeñan un papel increíble en ser las figuras paternas, siendo un detalle importante en ambas historias.
We also encounter the theme of flying, which in both films is a reference to letting go, and how both mothers are flightless beings and have no knowledge of it.
También nos encontramos con el tema de volar, que si bien en ambas películas es una referencia sobre soltar y dejar ir, y cómo ambas madres son seres no voladores y no tienen ningún conocimiento al respecto.
The differences between the films are their ending, the duck and the goose return, but they do not find the same thing, although Wild Robot is a film that teaches us the good of love (like the other one), but in Daisy a hen into the wild we see the resignation of the hen making the ending highly tragic.
Las diferencias de las películas son su final, el pato y el ganso vuelven, pero no encuentran lo mismo, si bien Robot Salvaje es una película que nos enseña el bien del amor (al igual que la otra), pero en Daisy a hen into the wild se ve el resigno de la gallina haciendo que el final sea altamente trágico.
If you haven't seen Robot Salvaje, it's still in theaters, and I don't know of any platform where you can watch Daisy a hen into the wild, but I know that at some point you'll find it somewhere, and you'll be able to admire such a work of art. Thanks for reading.
