I found a turtle today!
I’ve lived here for over three years. I’ve mowed the lawn religiously every weekend. But in all this time, I’ve found not one single title. I’ve seen snakes, frogs, birds, and crazy insects, but not one turtle.
As I was edging by the side of the road, I stopped for a couple passing by, not wanting to blast them with the torrent of trimmings coming off of my weed eater, and they told me “look out for a turtle in there, we found one on the road this morning and put him in the tall grass (I mow most of the yard religiously. The front part by the road, this was probably the third time ever…because we’re selling).
Not two minutes later, there he was!
I took some short video, I was hoping to screen shot one of those cool IG style pictures, where the turtle’s head is poked out and it looks like we’re having a close conversation. Since that didn’t work out, I decided to make silly gifs instead :)
I brought him up to the house so my kids could meet him while I finished up the work, but as an avid dream seeker and sign follower, I’m always curious about what the universe might be telling me - particularly when something happens out of the ordinary.
This was exciting to me. We’ve secured our new home in NC, but have been struggling to find a buyer for our MD home. I mean, it’s been a week, but in this market that seems like a long time. Could it be this couple was prompted by greater forces, to ensure that I had the best odds of catching this sign? I guess we’ll never know, but for me, I find that believing in (and looking for) signs…we’ll it can’t hurt!
We’ll, that was my turtle experience. He was pretty rad, but in the end we knew it was best to enjoy his company for a short while, and put him back out in nature, where he can thrive.
