After some practice and exercises with watercolors (which I will show you later) I went back to the donuts, to feel safe for a while in mastered territory, to continue exploring areas of watercolor that are more difficult for me.
I looked at one of the many photos I took of a donut factory; this one perpendicular, where the background or the base where the donuts are supported is extremely clear and transparent, although I did not highlight this aspect.
For this art and as in others of donuts; I supported myself at the end with the crayons. There is no hyperrealism although I am looking for it, but I love the vintage result of the donuts in watercolor. I even always imagined them framed in the store, but unfortunately it closed.

When I started I imagined that the most difficult part would be the peanut coating. However, I found out later that it was not.
The pencil sketch was extremely simple. Just three circles with the imperfection of the raised hand.
It is the first time I paint watercolors at night; that is why you will see the photos a little yellowish and it is because of the light bulb that illuminated.
I started with the base; a semi-transparent plastic tray. It is always best in watercolor to start with the lightest and get darker and darker on top of that. This is why I then painted the lighter areas of the donuts, which I thought would be the most complicated since I would have to leave a lot of white dots. However, I got the hang of it quickly and it was easy, even though the colors are not exact.
Then I moved on to the chocolate and that was the tricky part. The tricky part is that the chocolate rain is lighter than the dark chocolate background. So if I painted the background first, then it would be very difficult to paint lighter, or at least I don't know that trick yet. That's why I painted pure rain until it became the background, although that way it was more textured than the original.
Here you can see the final result with artificial light at night and natural light.
With the crayons I highlighted the chocolate rain and especially the shadows that I didn't want to give so much strength with the watercolor, perhaps for fear of damaging it.
I am using half of the sheets of the block, for two reasons: to save material and to make small drawings while I get more experience. That's why you see the two arts together.
