"Grungy Miu Miu" // Day 16 of #Zingtober

I'm back with another entry for the #Zingtober fest! Today's prompt is "GRUNGY!"

This is a fascinating #art prompt because it can be anything, as long as it has that grungy vibe. For this piece, I chose Miu Miu as my subject. Normally, Miu Miu looks neat and cuddly in most references, but I wanted to give him an alternative look—something slouchy and, of course, grungy!

Although rare, I've had days like this when I don't really care much about my appearance—or even my smell. I call it my 'lazy cat day,' when I eat carelessly and make a mess of my space. So, I decided to capture that feeling in my #Zingtober art submission. Of course, I had to include some Holozing elements, and since Miu Miu is one of my favorites, it was an easy choice throughout my creative process.

Let me walk you through how I created this artwork and how I arrived at the final result:

Sketching

Using ProCreate's pencil, I sketched how Miu Miu would look and how he would slouch in the corner of the wall. At this stage, I focused on adding as many details as possible to make the line work easier in the later stages.

Linework

For this piece, I used two types of inking brushes in ProCreate: Berksville and Syrup. I used one for lines that needed precise placement and straightness, and the other for a more hand-drawn, organic look. I often use both brushes, but usually not in the same piece. Today was an exception.

Shading!

I really enjoyed the shading process because the scene didn’t have too many details to consider, and the lighting direction I set was simple to visualize.

To wrap up, working on this piece was both fun and creatively fulfilling, especially with the freedom to experiment with different styles and techniques. I'm excited to continue pushing my artistic boundaries through more #Zingtober prompts. Thank you for following along, and I can't wait to share more with you soon!
