Index4INDEX Card 178: Drake 1

Never let success get to your head and never let failure get to your heart.

-- Drake

About the Quote

It's easy to get a swollen head from whatever success we get. It's just as easy to get sad and emotional when we experience failure.. It's OK to feel either of these the moment they happen, but it's not OK to maintain those states of mind beyond that moment. We need to strike a balance in how we react to both success and to failure. Being level-headed isn't easy, but inthe long run it serves us best.

Some Information about Drake

Aubrey Drake Graham was born in Toronto, Ontario, Canada on 1986-October-24.

Better known to the world as Drake, he is a rap artist and actor.

When Graham was a child, his parents divorced. He was raised by his mother, although he spent summers with his father. His father was a drummer who had connection to people in the music business.

In 2001, when Graham was around 15, he was cast for the role of Jimmy Brooks in the teenage drama series Degrassi: The Next Generation. It was at this time that began rapping, and this is when Graham had become "Drake".

During this period he self-published his first mixtape, Room for Improvement (2006). His second tape, Comeback Season (2007) included the hit single "Replacement Girl," which featured Trey Songs. This single was used on the BET music video program 106 & Park, and this helped Drake gain more exposure.

In 2008 Drake left Degrassi: The Next Generation to focus on his music career.
