Some people hit the big-time with wealth or fame or some other benefit people would kill to have. most people just live life more as an existence than as something to treasure and value. No matter which of these people we are, we are all meant for something big. We are all meant for a higher purpose-- even if it is simply to set the stage for another person to make it big.
In The Matrix (1999), that was the situation for Morpheus until he found Neo. Neo himself had been wandering the digital world on a quest for something more than what he had been told, only he kept coming up empty. Once Morpheus, with help from Trinity, found Neo, the rest of the 3-part movie series was history.
In the case of Tupac Shakur, he had both situations. He had achieved wealth, success, and fame. He also wanted to be the person who would find the person who could bring about change in this world. Given the influence he had on a generation of (at the time) young people, at least a few of them must have done exactly that.
If we stay in place and don't make adjustments, we are guaranteed to never hit the big-time or find out higher purpose.

Mary Lou Retton was born in Fairmont, West Virginia, US on 1968-January-24.
Mary Lou Retton is a motivational speaker and author. She is best known as an Olympic Gold Medalist at the 1984 Los Angeles Summer Games, where she won the all-around competition with a 10.000 on both the floor exercise and her final vault.
When Mary Lou Retton was 4, she began taking dance classes with her sister. When she was 5, she and her sister began taking gymnastics classes at West Virginia University and later at a newly-opened local gym. When she was 8, she had been inspired by the performance of Romanian Olympic gymnast Nadia Comaneci --coached by Béla Károlyi, her own future coach-- at the 1976 Montréal Summer Games.
As a result of being inspired after watching Nadia Comaneci's performance, Mary Lou Retton took part in her first gymnastics competition. She didn't win at her debut competition, but a short time later she took first place in a tournament for beginning gymnasts.
By 1980, when she was 12, Mary Lou Retton had demonstrated how serious and dedicated she was about gymnastics. She did so well at the beginner's level that she went straight to competing in Class I competitions, thus bypassing several intermediate levels. Although she had achieved success as a gymnast, she believed her development as a gymnast was stagnant. After convincing her parents about her desire to win an Olympic Gold Medal while she could still do gymnastics, she sought the best coach she knew about: Béla Károlyi, who by that time had already defected from Romania to the United States.
