Hola, soy Juan Pablo Torrealba, tengo 48 años, nací en Quíbor estado Lara Venezuela, pero vivo en Caracas-Venezuela hace más de 15 años; esposo de una hermosa mujer y padre de dos niños cariñosos (Lorelei 5 años y Juan Andrés 3 años) con los que comparto mi día a día, mis sueños, anhelos e ilusiones. Soy músico, compositor, docente e investigador. He trabajado la docencia por más de 20 años en los diferentes niveles educativos (preescolar, primaria, secundaria, universitario y postgrado) y también en el Sistema de Orquestas y Coros Juveniles e Infantiles de Venezuela (FENOSJIV). Durante esta trayectoria me dediqué a formar a niños, jóvenes y adultos en el área musical (instrumental y coral), con aportes de mi conocimiento y creatividad.

Desde muy pequeño he cultivado las artes en mi vida. Soy del estado Lara-Venezuela, allí aprendí el amor por las tradiciones; primero por el tamunangue y luego por el resto de las danzas tradicionales de mi país. Es así como participé en grupos de danza, teatro y corales, convirtiéndose, ésta última, en mi más grande pasión, cantar, pero, además cantar en coro. De esta manera despertó mi curiosidad por el canto, los instrumentos como la guitarra y el cuatro y comencé con estos y al igual que la lecto-escritura musical, de manera empírica (autodidacta), lo que me abrió el camino para lo que sería en el futuro mi profesión. Es por eso que realicé estudios formales en dos instituciones: CEMI (estado Bolívar) y en el Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales (IUDEM-Caracas), en donde me gradué como Licenciado.
Los últimos años los he dedicado a la investigación y a mi formación, de manera profunda, en las tradiciones culturales y artísticas de Venezuela y Latinoamérica, por esta razón realicé un Ph.D. en Artes y Culturas entre el 2018 y 2020 en UNEARTE-Venezuela (culminado), Universidad donde labora desde hace más de 15 años.
Since I was very young I have cultivated the arts in my life. I am from the state of Lara-Venezuela, there I learned the love for traditions; first for the tamunangue and then for the rest of the traditional dances of my country. This is how I participated in dance, theater and choral groups, the latter becoming my greatest passion, singing, but also singing in chorus. This awakened my curiosity for singing, instruments such as the guitar and the cuatro, and I began with these, as well as reading and writing music, in an empirical way (self-taught), which opened the way for what would become my profession in the future. That is why I did formal studies in two institutions: CEMI (Bolivar state) and at the Instituto Universitario de Estudios Musicales (IUDEM-Caracas), where I graduated with a degree.
The last years I have dedicated to research and to my formation, in a deep way, in the cultural and artistic traditions of Venezuela and Latin America, for this reason I did a Ph.D. in Arts and Cultures between 2018 and 2020 in UNEARTE-Venezuela (completed), University where I have been working for more than 15 years.
Esto me ha permitido incorporar nuevos conocimientos a mi vida artística y a mi práctica docente, dando un aporte adicional a todos mis estudiantes, quienes incursionan en la investigación de campo con el deseo de aprender y conocer nuestras tradiciones.

Mis gustos y pasiones
Una de mis pasiones, como mencioné antes, es el canto y en especial el canto coral. Desde joven he participado en diferentes agrupaciones corales; en ellas estudié y aprendí el repertorio de diferentes épocas, géneros y estilos; desde la música renacentista, barroca y clásica europea, hasta la música moderna-contemporánea del mundo, incluyendo también el repertorio venezolano colonial, académico y popular hasta nuestros tiempos. Es quizás esta pasión la que me acercó al estudio formal de la música. En ese camino me especialicé en la docencia musical y en la dirección coral, siendo director fundador de agrupaciones escolares y de música religiosa, para los que he compuesto y arreglado música de diferentes géneros y estilos.
My tastes and passions
One of my passions, as I mentioned before, is singing and especially choral singing. Since I was young I have participated in different choral groups; in them I studied and learned the repertoire of different periods, genres and styles; from renaissance, baroque and classical European music, to modern-contemporary music of the world, including also the Venezuelan colonial, academic and popular repertoire up to our times. It is perhaps this passion that brought me closer to the formal study of music. Along this path I specialized in music teaching and choral conducting, being the founding director of school and religious music groups, for which I have composed and arranged music of different genres and styles.

Hace algunos años, 2015 o 2016 aproximadamente, escuché, en los pasillos de la universidad donde laboro, a un compañero hablar de sus habilidades y emprendimiento en las redes sociales, al igual que en las Criptomonedas, en las que estaba invirtiendo tiempo y dinero. Al parecer era un negocio muy lucrativo y que podía ser, según sus palabras, “el negocio del futuro”. Quizás en aquel momento no estaba preparado para indagar un poco más en este tema, o tal vez, tenía miedo de aventurarme en un proyecto del cual sabía muy poco. La red social, o más bien debo decir ecosistema, de la que él hablaba mi amigo era “Steem”. Yo por mi parte tenía una cuenta en Facebook y otra en youtobe, las cuales no me aportan dividendos y que con el tiempo me ha surgido desconfianza, por todo aquello que dicen de lo inseguro que puede ser tener cuentas en estas redes sociales, aunque les doy poco uso, puedo observar como cada día me envían información de “personas que tal vez conozco” (apenas agrego un número nuevo a mi teléfono), y de cosas, que según ellos “te puede interesar”. Todo esto suele resulta ser cierto, pero la verdad es que no tienes privacidad en tu información. Hoy día encuentras mucha información de cómo ganar dinero en todas estas redes sociales, lo que puede hacerlas algo atractivas, pero me pregunto ¿a qué precio?, ¿Qué tan seguro puede ser esto?, creo que no tenemos muchas garantías, y antes de perder el tiempo en publicar algo en Facebook, es preferible buscar un espacio que te pueda brindar mayores garantías a tu información.
Hace más de un año mi esposa @milamarkn escuchó de Hive, y de la seguridad que esta comunidad ha logrado para su ecosistema (Sistema de bloques – Criptomoneda – red social), iniciando una aventura que le ha permitido capitalizar varias de sus actividades, tanto musicales como de tejido, en poco tiempo. Es así que despierta mí curiosidad por indagar, leer y ver la posibilidad de incorporarme en un nuevo proyecto, que me permita mostrar mis talentos y al mismo tiempo, recibir de manera recíproca, un aporte a mis intervenciones. En este sentido pienso que entrar en la red social Hive me permitirá compartir con otras personas mis inquietudes, gustos y conocimientos de manera segura, sin miedo a que mi información pueda ser usada de manera inapropiada. Además, espero encontrar personas con intereses similares a los míos, con los que pueda colaborar, y así dar a aquellos que han construido en Hive su comunidad un pequeño aporte y al mismo tiempo aprender de todos ellos.
En este sentido, he pensado en dos proyectos iniciales: el primero tiene que ver con el paseo por las tradiciones de Venezuela, el cual quiero hacerlo con pequeñas publicaciones que constituirán una sería; el segundo se enfoca en el trabajo coral, para esto me planteo realizar algunos videos con canciones corales de diferentes épocas y con algunos arreglos propios para explicar a mis lectores el amplio espacio musical que los coros pueden abarcar.

Perhaps at that time I was not ready to dig a little deeper into this topic, or maybe I was afraid to venture into a project I knew very little about. The social network, or rather I should say ecosystem, that my friend was talking about was "Steem". I for my part had an account on Facebook and another on youtobe, which do not bring me dividends and that over time I have arisen distrust, for all that they say about how unsafe it can be to have accounts on these social networks, although I give them little use, I can see how every day they send me information of "people I might know" (just add a new number to my phone), and things, which according to them "you may be interested in". All of this often turns out to be true, but the truth is that you have no privacy in your information. Nowadays you find a lot of information on how to make money in all these social networks, which can make them somewhat attractive, but I wonder at what price, how safe can this be, I think we do not have many guarantees, and before wasting time to publish something on Facebook, it is preferable to look for a space that can provide greater guarantees to your information.
More than a year ago my wife @milamarkn heard about Hive, and the security that this community has achieved for its ecosystem (Block System - Cryptocurrency - social network), starting an adventure that has allowed her to capitalize several of her activities, both musical and knitting, in a short time. This is how she awakens my curiosity to investigate, read and see the possibility of joining a new project that allows me to show my talents and at the same time, receive a reciprocal contribution to my interventions. In this sense, I think that joining the social network Hive will allow me to share my concerns, tastes and knowledge with other people in a safe way, without fear that my information can be used inappropriately. In addition, I hope to find people with similar interests to mine, with whom I can collaborate, and thus give those who have built their community in Hive a small contribution and at the same time learn from all of them.
In this sense, I have thought of two initial projects: the first has to do with the walk through the traditions of Venezuela, which I want to do with small publications that will constitute a would be; the second focuses on choral work, for this I plan to make some videos with choral songs from different eras and with some arrangements of my own to explain to my readers the wide musical space that choirs can cover.
