When we talk about visiting an island, surely palm trees, sun, sand and a spectacular blue sea come to mind? However, this island is far from all that fantasy....
Located in Mexico, specifically south of Mexico City in the park of Xochimilco...
The island of the dolls is a Chinampa, formation made with a kind of rafts with land that when growing their plants and settle give greater territory to the area and is planted, in this case has served to promote tourism and a great legend...

Legend has it that by the 1950s, the small island was cared for by Don Julián Santana barrera. Some days later, while walking along the canal, he found a doll on its banks.... Imagining that it was the girl's, he picked it up and placed it in a tree on the island as a tribute to her...
But everything does not stop there, because every time Mr. Santana returned to the place after going out and selling his crops, he began to feel the presence of something, which he assumed was the spirit of that girl who was chasing him, so he decided to place more dolls as a symbol of "protection"...
However, every day that passed he realized that the more dolls he placed the calmer his soul was, so being humble he sold everything he had to buy dolls and also began to search in the dumpsters to collect more toys and calm the spirits that haunted the place...
As fate would have it, in 2001, Mr. Santana died falling into the water, presumably of a heart attack, right in the same place where the girl was found... Something would generate a strong impression on him? 😕 Spooky, isn't it?
Nowadays many people visit the place, not caring about the bad omen, the spookiness of the place, the signs of paranormal activity, as there are witnesses who claim to hear voices and see dolls move, as well as dogs barking due to the presence of strange spirits...
If you want to visit the island, meet Mr. Julian's favorite doll and enjoy this legend, you can do it through a tourist tour or arrive at the pier of Cuemanco or Embarcadero Fernando Celada and rent a trajinera as they call it, which will give you a tour through the canals of the Teshuilo Lagoon until you reach the place...I give you a good luck tip, you must rent one that has your name, where you come from or with the word of the intention with which you go... 😅
Also you must be careful because there are 5 smaller replicas before arriving to the island and also be careful NOT to touch the dolls because you could bring some curse...😈

Cuando hablamos de visitar una isla, seguramente te viene a la mente palmeras, sol, arena y un mar de color azul espectacular... Sin embargo, esta isla esta alejada de toda esa fantasía...
Ubicada en Mexico, específicamente al sur de la Ciudad de México en el parque de Xochimilco...
La isla de las muñecas es una Chinampa, formación hecha con una especie de balsas con tierras que al crecer sus plantas y asentarse dan mayor territorio a la zona y se siembra, en este caso ha servido para fomentar el turismo y una gran leyenda...
Ahora...
¿Por que le dicen así? 😧
Aunque te parezca extraño, ese lugar desolado esta repleto de muñecas colgadas en los arboles y en todo el sitio, posee alrededor de 2200 muñecas con aspecto tétrico, algunas mutiladas, con ojos feos, cuerpos invadidos de arañas u otros insectos, arropadas por enredaderas y plantas del lugar, que han crecido durante más de 70 años, desde que se bautizó el sitio...
La leyenda cuenta que para los años 50, la pequeña isla la cuidaba Don Julián Santana barrera. Un día sorpresivamente encontró el cuerpo de una niña, inmediatamente intentó reanimarla sin éxito, muriendo ahogada en extrañas circunstancias, posiblemente enredada en el canal y generando en él un sentimiento de culpa y frustración.
Días después, haciendo recorrido por el canal, él encontró a orillas del mismo una muñeca... Imaginando que era de la niña, la recogió y la colocó en un árbol de la isla en homenaje a ella...
Pero todo no queda allí, pues cada vez que el señor Santana regresaba al lugar luego de salir y vender sus cosechas, empezó a sentir la presencia de algo, que el asumía que era el espíritu de esa niña que lo perseguía, así que, decidió colocar más muñecas como símbolo de "protección"...
Sin embargo, cada día que pasaba se daba cuenta que mientras más muñecas colocaba más tranquila estaba su alma, así que siendo humilde vendió todo lo que tenia para comprar muñecas y además empezó a buscar en los basureros para recolectar más juguetes y calmar los espíritus que rondaban el lugar...
Como cuestiones del destino, en el año 2001 el señor Santana fallece cayendo al agua se presumen que de un paro cardiaco, justo en el mismo lugar que la niña fue encontrada... ¿Algo le generaría una fuerte impresión? 😕¿Espeluznante no?
Actualmente muchas personas visitan el lugar, sin importarle el mal augurio, lo fantasmagórico del lugar, las muestras de actividad paranormal, pues hay testigos que afirman escuchar voces y ver mover a las muñecas, así como perros ladrar por la presencia de espíritus extraños...
Si quieres visitar la isla, conocer la muñeca favorita del sr Julián y disfrutar esta leyenda, puedes hacerlo a través de un tour turísticos o llegar al embarcadero de Cuemanco o Embarcadero Fernando Celada y alquilar una trajinera como le llaman, que te dará un recorrido por los canales de la Laguna de Teshuilo hasta llegar al lugar...Te doy un dato de buena suerte, debes alquilar una que tenga tu nombre, de donde provienes o con la palabra de la intención con la que vas...😅
Además debes tener cuidado porque hay 5 replicas más pequeñas antes de llegar a la isla y también tener cuidado de NO tocar las muñecas porque podrías traer alguna maldición...😈
