Forced Patterns /Environmental Activities 17/10/2024

For the past few weeks, I've been trying to change my sleeping pattern. I used to be a night owl, staying up late, but I wanted to start sleeping earlier. The plan was to get up around 2 a.m. to read for a bit before starting my day. At first, it seemed like a great idea, but now I'm facing a big problem: falling back asleep after reading.

When I wake up at 2 a.m. and read, my eyes feel wide open by the time I’m done by 4 a.m. It's like my brain switches on completely, and I can't seem to shut it off again. No matter how hard I try to go back to sleep, it just doesn’t happen. Even on days when I don’t need to wake up at 2 a.m. to read, my body still does it automatically, as if it’s stuck in this new routine.

Now, instead of waking up refreshed, I find myself forced to stay awake until the sun comes up. It's frustrating because I want to get enough sleep, but my body and mind seem to have other plans. I didn't think changing my sleep schedule would be this hard.

I'm still trying to figure out how to make it work, but for now, I guess I’m just going to be awake a lot earlier than I want to be. Hopefully, I can find a way to get my sleep back on track soon.
