I just arrived in the city of Bogota to enjoy its vibrant energy and rich culture. I keep insisting that it is a city that anyone can fall in love with. And if there is something that cannot be missed in a visit to the Colombian capital, it is enjoying a cup of coffee in one of its emblematic Juan Valdez cafes.
On the second day in the city we decided to go into the Zona T, a very nice area known for its nightlife and multiple gastronomic options. There, in the middle of the nightlife and the cold, we found a Juan Valdez coffee shop.
The aroma of freshly ground coffee almost carried us to the place from the moment we walked through the door. The atmosphere was warm and cozy, perfect for relaxing and enjoying a good book or just people-watching. Without hesitation, we ordered something hot. I in particular ordered a Colombian classic: a freshly baked bono bread accompanied by a thick and creamy hot chocolate. The combination was simply divine.
To complete the experience, we decided to try a slice of chocolate cake with peanut topping. The moist texture of the sponge cake and the sweetness of the peanuts created an explosion of flavors on my palate. With each bite, I became more convinced that the fame of Colombian coffee was fully deserved and, beware, not only for the coffee, but also for its pastries and bakery.
Beyond the taste, what impressed me most was the attention of the staff. The baristas, with their extensive knowledge of coffee, gave me personalized recommendations and explained the process of making each drink.
Before I finish, I would like to recommend that if you are planning to visit Bogota, you cannot miss the opportunity to live a unique coffee experience at Juan Valdez. Recién llegué a la ciudad de Bogotá para disfrutar de su vibrante energía y su rica cultura. Sigo insistiendo que es una ciudad que enamora a cualquiera. Y si hay algo que no puede faltar en una visita a la capital colombiana, es disfrutar de una taza de café en uno de sus emblemáticos cafés Juan Valdez.
En el segundo día en la ciudad decidimos adentrarnos en la Zona T, una zona muy linda y conocida por su vida nocturna y sus múltiples opciones gastronómicas. Allí, en medio de la movida nocturna y el frío, encontramos un café Juan Valdez.
El aroma del café recién molido casi que nos llevaba hasta el lugar y desde el momento en que cruzamos la puerta. El ambiente era cálido y acogedor, perfecto para relajarse y disfrutar de un buen libro o simplemente observar a la gente pasar. Sin dudarlo, pedimos algo caliente. Yo en lo particular pedí un clásico colombiano: un pan de bono recién horneado acompañado de un chocolate caliente espeso y cremoso. La combinación era simplemente divina.
Para completar la experiencia, decidimos probar una porción de torta de chocolate con cubierta de maní. La textura húmeda del bizcocho y la dulzura del maní crearon una explosión de sabores en mi paladar. Con cada bocado, me convencía más de que la fama del café colombiano era totalmente merecida y ojo, no solo por el café, también por su pastelería y panadería.
Más allá del sabor, lo que más me impresionó fue la atención del personal. Los baristas, con sus amplios conocimientos sobre el café, me brindaron recomendaciones personalizadas y me explicaron el proceso de elaboración de cada bebida.
Antes de terminar, quiero recomendarte que si estás planeando visitar Bogotá, no puedes perderte la oportunidad de vivir una experiencia cafetera única en Juan Valdez. La Zona T es un excelente punto de partida para comenzar tu recorrido y descubrir por qué el café colombiano es considerado uno de los mejores del mundo.
