PhotoFeed Contest - Landscape Photography #28 : Coastal erosion is chaning the landscape

DSC_23.JPG

This photo was taken at the west coast of Denmark, during winter. The place is called Rubjerg Knude. The highest point of the clif is around 100 m. above sea level. The sand on the top of the cliff is actually a sand dune. The sea is eating its way into the coast. I have been here several times and have seen how much the sea has taken of the coast. Once there was a lighthouse here, but now it's gone. The houses in the background is the small town Lønstrup. The houses look as the will be taken by the sea. In fact, each year several meters of the coast disapear. This is all due to erosion, but quite dramatic for the people who live here. This is my entry to @photofeed contest @photofeed/photofeed-contest-landscape-photography-winners--round-28
