Below is my entry for week 118 of the #ZapFic Microfiction Contest (240 or less characters story) hosted by @felt.buzz

The sunlight paints her blade as she draws it into the air. She dodges the enemy's sword and her blade, in turn, slices along his chest.
After ten year of battle, she is awarded high merits, but a horse is all she asks to come homeward to her parents.
