Post Hive Power Up Day Delegations for November

It seems that the world has been holding its collective breath over the last week. After yesterday, though, it seems to be breathing a little more easily. I hope. Political leanings aside, fear, uncertainty and doubt (FUD) are not good. Heaven knows, we've had enough of that this year with the "V" visitation. I get the sense that people are looking toward 2021 with, let's just say, open minds, if not hope.

A necessary digression (of course)

When I announced last month's delegation winners, I shared some of my blogging lessons and some thoughts about what contributes to blogging success generally, especially on Hive:

  • consistency,
  • creating content and
  • conversations (commenting on other people's blogs).

This reflection got me thinking, so when I confirmed my contribution to November's Power Up Day, I added a fourth criterion for recipients of my delegations. The accounts must, before they power up:

  1. be less than 6 months old
  2. be less than 59 rep
  3. have less than 200
  4. must have at least two qualifying posts in the preceding calendar month.
Posts that qualify must have 200 words or more, and exclude posts for Power Up Day, and Actifit
    .

November delegations

In her post announcing the winners of the November #HivePUD, @traciyork observed that the number of little fish participating this month had declined. As she put it when she sent me a list of accounts, there were slim pickings and only one account, @learning-tarot, which met all the criteria, so I have delegated to that account.

Two in a row

Yes, it's the second month in a row, and the same account also was top of the HivePUD pops which goes to show what happens when an account is worked. Hopefully - and I mean this in the best possible sense - this account will no longer be eligible next month.

And what about the other 200HP?

You may well ask what I'm doing with the other 200HP that I had set aside. Remember what I said about consistently producing content and conversations? So I have delegated 200 HP to @curie because I know that it will be used to support under-recognised accounts and quality content on the Hive blockchain.

Next month

As part of the #HivePUD initiative that @streetstyle started and which @traciyork is handling in his absence, last month I committed to a monthly delegation of 100HP to three qualifying accounts. Even though only one qualified in November, the commitment stands. In the coming months, and if no accounts meet the criteria, the equivalent delegation will be allocated to @curie and/or another general curation initiative to support the work they do supporting quality content on the blockchain.

For the record - proof of delegation

That's not all

My usual practice is to add each of the accounts to which I have delegated to my fanbase so that "I" upvote it once a day - assuming that it posts. @ginabot tells me about this and, also assuming I'm at my keyboard, I'll drop by and have a read, add my 2c worth in a comment and occasionally reblog the post. This auto vote already applies to @curie which I have followed for some time and which also has my witness vote.

See you next month for the - can you believe it? - last Hive Power Up Day of 2020.

Until next time, be well

Post Script

I am doing my best to post every day for November as part of @traciyork's twice yearly #HiveBloPoMo challenge. This is my third attempt. Why not join the fun? Traci's full post is here

And then there's more:

  • If this post might seem familiar, it's because I'm doing two things:
    • re-vamping old recipes. As I do this, I plan to add them in a file format that you can download and print. If you download recipes, buy me a coffee. Or better yet, a glass of wine....?
    • and "re-capturing" nearly two years' worth of posts because of this.
  • If you’re interested in a soft entry into the world of crypto currency and monetising WordPress blog, use the fantastic plugin to post directly to the Hive blockchain. Click on the image below to sign up -
