In my community, most people lived their lives wanting to be chosen, from the moment of their creation, their dreams are to be held, played with but, for me, it was different; I yearned for more, I wanted to see the world and be more than just a colorful flexible bag.

Now, my dreams were almost impossible especially when I looked the way I did, everyone wanted me and I always stood out, but I guess I was lucky because what came with me often chased most away.

Not a day passed when someone didn’t look at me, but in the end, they left with another which was fine with me until I realized that those who were with me when I came had left and I was the only one remaining.

I started craving what the others wanted, at least if I had that I would have left too but, weeks and months passed and no one still wanted me.

I was exhausted and lonely, because no matter who joined me, they were sure to leave before me.

I decided to not only give up on my dreams of seeing the world but, also on my fate of being held and played with, but on one fateful day, luck was on my side and a couple walked in inquiring about me.

They spent time with the person who would hand me to them and after talking for a while, I heard someone say;

“Finally, you are leaving”.

I was ecstatic when I heard that, I was finally going, so, I got myself ready and breathe in all the air that I could take; I didn't want to have problems with that.

The couple took me and while we headed to their car, something happened and I was separated from them; wandering on my own.

I thought about going back to the home I knew, but I felt like it was my time to see the world, so I let myself wander, and trust me when I say that it was amazing.

I wandered for months until one day when I met a group of children, and they wanted to play with me, one thing led to another while we were playing and I hit the floor;

“Pop”, I went immediately.

Everything before my eyes was going dark and I knew I wasn't going to make it, but I was happy that my dreams came through even though it was for just a few months.

I was exhausted as the air left me and I deflated, my story had ended I guess, but at least I hoped that it was a good one.

THE END
