It all started with a phone call.

"Are you okay?", Lolade asked the young man who was pacing around the school gate.

"I am fine, thank you", the guy answered.

"I came for the exam, please can you direct me to the hall?", she asked the guy.

"I also came for the exam but I forgot my exam folder in the cab that brought me", he replied.

"That's bad", how do you intend to retrieve it", Lolade asked.

"I don't know", he answered and Lolade had to walk away since he was angry.

"Hello, please I need to make a phone call. Can I use your phone?", He asked Lolade.

"Sure, why not", she answered and gave her cell phone to him.

"Do you want to call the driver", she asked.

"I don't have his number, let me try my phone if he is going to pick up", he replied.

grrnnnn grrnn, the phone rang but no one picked it up.

He tried more but no one answered the phone.

"Thank you, the driver is not picking up", he returned the phone and she felt pity for him.

Lolade went inside the school and returned.

"We have about an hour to the exam, let's keep trying", she gave out her phone again to him.

"Thanks, my name is Daniel", he replied to her.

She smiled and sat beside him with the hope of the driver picking up.

grrrnnnn grnnnn, the phone again and someone picked it.

"Hello, who is this?", the person at the other end asked.

"I am the owner of the phone and I forgot it in your cab. You dropped me at Inkwell's college", Daniel replied.

"Oh, this is the driver. I found it with a folder, I will bring it but you will pay me", the driver said.

"Yes, I will", he replied.

Daniel was happy so was Lolade, they looked at each other and smiled.

Voom!, the driver arrived.

Daniel rushed to retrieve his things and paid the driver.

He thanked Lolade and they both went into the exam Hall.

They were done and waved goodbye after the exam.

Later that night, Daniel called Lolade.

"Hello Lolade, thanks for today", Daniel thanked her and they chatted about the exams.

Their friendship started from that point and they spoke almost every day.

"Have you checked your result?", Daniel asked some weeks later.

"No, I haven't. I don't have the fee for the card to check and my parents are financially down?", Lolade replied.

"I will send you some money so you can check it", he said.

She was happy and he fulfilled his promise.

Lolade checked and passed. She was excited to break the news to Daniel and he was happy too.

"I think I will forfeit the scholarship, my parents are struggling financially at the moment and there is no help coming", Lolade opened up about why she has been sad for days while on call.

"Sorry to hear that, let's be hopeful", he replied her.

That evening, Daniel spoke to her parents about Lolade and they agreed to help.

They are rich but Daniel doesn't like showing off, he loves to be simple and his parent always complained. Lolade doesn't know how rich Daniel's parents were and he didn't give her a clue.

"Hello, Lolade. I have a good news for you", Daniel told her on the phone.

"What's that?", she asked.

"My parents have agreed to sponsor your traveling so you won't forfeit the scholarship", he replied.

"How? you must be kidding", she replied.

"If your parents are rich enough to do that, why are you applying for a scholarship", she asked.

"It is my choice, I just want to live like every normal child. I don't like being pampered by my parents", he replied.

Lolade was suprised and they both traveled out to study on scholarship, the two families became close.

While in their final years, they started dating and they informed their parents.

After graduation, Daniel proposed to Lolade and they planned to get married.

On their wedding day while Daniel was saying his vows, he paused and face the guest.

"It is good to be good, meeting Lolade started with borrowing her cellphone to make a phone call and here we are today".
