I Didn’t Understand The Day.

I woke up one day feeling restless and wasn’t even willing to do anything. Normally, when I wake up in the morning, I always press my phone first even though I may have so much chores to do.
That day, I woke up, my eyes were shining so bright like torchlight and I was looking all around at the ceiling without pressing my phone. It’s so weird for me to wake up without having to press my phone.
I heard my mum’s voice calling my name.

Omokunmi!!! I was feeling so reluctant to respond to her but made sure that I didn’t stand up from that bed.
This is so strange, I heard my mum saying that while walking towards my room to come check on me.

Why are you laying on the bed looking this way? Is there anything wrong with you, my mum said to me.

*Nothing, I don’t just feel like standing up from my bed or doing anything today. Maybe I woke up on the wrong side of the bed, I said to my mum but she’s the kind of African mum who will make sure that she gets you out of bed no matter the kind of trick you want to perform.

I stood up, did all I was supposed to do at home and I took my bath. The normal me spends ten minutes in the bathroom but on this day, I spent over twenty minutes and my mum was calling my name almost every minute so I could leave the bathroom fast and go to shop to answer some of her customer’s waiting at the shop.
I really struggled so hard to get out of the bathroom and was reluctant to wear my cloth but I was left with no choice.

Sorry, my dear. I will join you in less than one hour, my mum said to me.

I got to shop and attended to one of my mum’s customer, Mama Dunsin who comes from a very far distance. The woman could tell that there was something wrong with me or looked like I was forced to come to the shop.
I answered her and swept the shop and also brought out some goods.
My mum got to shop in less than an hour just as she said and immediately after she got to shop, she received a call. The conversation she was having with the caller could tell that I did something wrong at the shop.

Mama Dunsin said that you miscalculated her goods. You calculated less than the actual price, my mum said to me and while she was talking, my heart was beating fast thinking that she was going to tell me some things I don’t like but she didn’t.

I’m sorry mummy. I don’t really know what’s happening to me today. I don’t feel like doing anything no matter how little the work may be, I said back at her.

Maybe you should go back home to sleep again and by the time you wake up, you should feel better, she said back to me and I went home immediately, ate my food and slept.

I slept with the hope that I was going to wake up having enough strength to do whatever comes my way but I woke up and was still the same I was in the morning.
I tried going to the kitchen to have lunch and I mistakenly broke a plate. That was when I could tell that something is really wrong somewhere.
I didn’t even bother to go to my mum’s shop to help her anymore. If I go to her shop, I knew it was very possible for me to mess up something so I just stay back at home just to manage my mood for the day.

When my mum got back from shop, she was so angry that I didn’t even come to check on her or even help her but I explained how I felt for the whole day to her. I was so surprised that my mum could be so understanding because I know her too well and she seem not to understand me at most times.

Waking up on the wrong side of the bed made my day dull and I didn’t even go online. The only solution that was proffered to me was to sleep again so maybe I could get better but it didn’t work and that was how I managed my day and woke up as a pretty baby girl on the next morning.
