Creed is back, with the ever briljant Mark Tremonti

I still remember when I first came into contact with Creed's music. That was with the album "Human Clay"...... I had never heard of them before but was fascinated by the music style (heavy riffs, bombastic drumming) and the characteristic voice of singer Scot Stapp. A colleague brought the CD (copied, that happened back then lol) and gave it to me to listen to.

With Arms Wide Open was of course a mega-hit all over the world, but that album contains so many more beautiful songs. If you have never listened to the album, I definitely recommend it. The
song higher was a big hit too, I remember the great clip from a roof-top, for that time just madness.

Creed got back together this year, after a long time apart. Scott Stapp had major problems with addictions and demons which meant the band could not continue. As it looks now, he has overcome that and they are touring America again at full speed. I have never seen Creed live because they have never been outside America in their heyday. Funny thing is, the same goes for Elvis, he only performed once in Germany during his time in the army.

But actually I want to go deeper into Mark Tremonti, the guitarist of Creed, in this post. Besides Creed he is also guitarist of Alter Bridge and singer/guitarist in his own band "Tremonti". We saw Tremonti live at Graspop in Belgium, energetic band with amazing music. This is the exact concert of Graspop..

In Alter Bridge he is a constant factor and very decisive for the sound. To be honest, I never listened to Alter Bridge that much, but now that I'm diving into it a bit, they really have made great music. A friend of mine is crazy about this band and follows them, when they are in Europe, at least through the Netherlands, Belgium and Germany.

Mark Tremonti is very committed to charities with children. He himself has a daughter with Down syndrome and he also raises money for those kids. Beautiful to see. I happened to come across a video where he sang a Sinatra-like song at a gala, which he gave for charity. The big band also included musicians from Sinatra. But with this clip Mark Tremonti shows that he has a good heart but also an amazing voice that is suitable for multiple music genres.

Besides being an insanely talented musician, Tremonti is also a great person with a heart in the right place. He also shows that not all musicians turn to drink and drugs (and of course there are more who don't).
