Hello to all the members of this community! Before I left on my trip, I found out that at the National Art Gallery of Caracas (Venezuela), an exhibition called "The World According to Mafalda" was open to the public with free admission, where they were paying tribute to the creation of Quino. I'm not what you'd call a big fan of Mafalda, but I remember that I always read her comics when the physical newspapers arrived at home. I had already attended a few exhibitions at the Gallery and I thought it was an excellent way to celebrate my return to the capital.

As I showed you in my previous post, for such a special occasion, I decided to wear an outfit inspired by this theme. I didn't get up so early because I was in no hurry to get there, but once there I got a big surprise... The queue to get in was huge! I was impressed because I had never thought I would end up queuing to enter an art gallery, but I did so with enthusiasm because I was happy to know that so many people were interested in seeing the exhibition, especially older ladies and children.

We were informed that the dynamic consisted of a guided tour, since the exhibition was interactive, so in order to enjoy the experience, the attendees would enter in groups and that the visit would last about forty-five minutes, more or less. That seemed interesting and striking to me, I really like the freedom that being alone while contemplating the works on display offers you, but I also really like guided tours (although I have only been able to attend a couple), since you learn a lot more when there is someone who explains details and information that you do not know; so, I was quite excited, despite the rain that began to fall and the cold.

Once we managed to enter (about two hours later 😵), the people in charge welcomed us with great excitement. They informed us how the visit was going to be structured, where we would go to different modules with various activities to see and do, as well as a short time in which they would allow us to take photographs with the works on display.

At the first stop, one of the girls told us about the creator of Mafalda and what motivated him to do his work. I didn't know anything about the context or the way in which this peculiar character had been created, so it was revealing for me. Then, when they were describing each of the characters to us, the guide asked the public about their names and the fans answered correctly, led by the descriptions given. It was lovely to hear how in unison, they mentioned the names and the guide smiled with satisfaction. Obviously, I didn't know haha ​​but I was able to take advantage of the moment to get to know these characters better.

As we had been told, we were given a few minutes to take pictures in each section after each guide's explanation. It's incredible how a few minutes fly by and you barely have time to take pictures without being left behind by the group haha, but it was quite exciting. One of my favorite modules was where they allowed us to make our own comics, using stamps with the Mafalda characters, which we then had to make speech bubbles for and create a funny situation. I didn't get very far haha, but I took my little sheet with me as a souvenir.

Later, the guides showed us much more of the peculiar way in which Mafalda saw the world, in a very illustrative way using quite fascinating 3D representations. Another of my favorite parts were the dioramas, that is, a miniature representation of the scenes or situations represented in the comic. My wonder lay in the form and materials they used to make them.

Another of my favorite modules was the full-scale recreation of a room from the 70s, where the small space was decorated with objects from that time. I wanted to stay there, but you know, there were a lot of us haha.

It was really a very fun and charming experience, not only because of the material on display, the good disposition of the guides, but also because of the spirit of those present. Thinking about all the older people who came and remembered their childhood during that visit, filled me with a pleasant feeling. Time passed so quickly and before we knew it, the tour had ended.

I was so absorbed in such a beautiful experience that when I left I remembered that it had been raining heavily, a fact that I completely forgot about during the entire visit. I would like to go back and now that they have extended the exhibition until November, at the request of the public, I am thinking of doing it on a day when the queue is not so long haha. If you are in Caracas and you don't know what to do, I invite you to visit this exhibition, you won't regret it 😊

¡Hola a todos los integrantes de ésta comunidad! Antes de irme de viaje me había enterado que en la Galería de Arte Nacional de Caracas (Venezuela), estaba a disposición del público con entrada gratuita, una exposición que lleva por nombre "El mundo según Mafalda", en donde se le estaba haciendo homenaje a la creación de Quino. No soy lo que se llama una gran fan de Mafalda, pero recuerdo que siempre leía sus historietas cuando los periódicos físicos llegaban a la casa. Ya había asistido a unas exposiciones de la Galería y pensé que era una excelente forma de celebrar mi regreso a la capital.

Como les mostré en mi post anterior, para una ocasión tan especial, decidí llevar un outfit inspirado en ésta temática. No me levanté tan temprano porque no tenía prisa en llegar, pero una vez allí me llevé una gran sorpresa... ¡La cola para ingresar era enorme! Me impresionó porque nunca había pensado en que acabaría haciendo una cola para ingresar a una galería de arte, pero la hice con entusiasmo porque me alegraba saber que tantas personas estaban interesadas en ver la exposición, sobre todo señoras mayores y niños.

Nos informaron que la dinámica consistía en una visita guiada, dado que la exposición era interactiva, así que para poder disfrutar de la experiencia, los asistentes irían ingresando por grupos y que la visita, tendría una duración de unos cuarenta y cinco minutos, más o menos. Eso me pareció interesante y llamativo, me gusta mucho la libertad que te ofrece estar solo contemplando las obras expuestas, pero también me gustan mucho las visitas guiadas (aunque sólo he podido asistir a un par), ya que aprendes muchísimo más cuando hay alguien que te explica detalles e información que desconoces; de modo que, estaba bastante emocionada, muy a pesar de la lluvia que empezó a caer y el frío.

Una vez que logramos ingresar (unas dos horas después 😵), los encargados nos recibieron con mucha emoción. Nos informaron cómo se iba a estructurar la visita, en donde pasaríamos a distintos módulos con diversas actividades para ver y hacer, así como un breve tiempo en el que permitirían que nos tomásemos fotografías con las obras expuestas.

En la primera parada, una de las chicas nos habló acerca del creador de Mafalda y lo que lo motivó a hacer su obra. No sabía para nada el contexto ni el modo en que se había creado éste peculiar personaje, así que fue revelador para mí. Luego, cuando nos fueron describiendo a cada uno de los personajes, la guía preguntaba acerca de los nombres al público y los fans, respondían acertadamente llevados por la descripciones dadas. Fue encantador escuchar cómo al unísono, mencionaban los nombres y la guía sonreía con satisfacción. Obviamente, yo no sabía jaja pero pude aprovechar el momento para conocer mejor a estos personajes.

Como nos habían explicado, nos dieron unos minutos para tomarnos fotografías en cada sección luego de la explicación de cada guía. Es increíble como unos minutos se pasan volando y apenas tienes tiempo de tomarte fotografías sin que te deje el grupo atrás jaja pero era bastante emocionante. Uno de mis módulos favoritos fue donde nos permitieron elaborar nuestros propios comics, utilizando unos sellos con los personajes de Mafalda, a los que luego, teníamos que hacerle sus globos de diálogos y crear una situación divertida. Yo no logré llegar muy lejos jaja pero me llevé mi hojita de recuerdo.

Más adelante, los guías nos fueron mostrando mucho más del modo peculiar en que Mafalda, veía el mundo, de una forma muy ilustrativa utilizando para ello, representaciones en 3D bastante fascinantes. Otra de mis partes favoritas, fueron los dioramas, es decir, una representación miniatura de los escenarios o situaciones representativas en el comic. Mi maravilla radicaba en la forma y materiales que utilizaron para realizarlos.

Otro de mis módulos favoritos, fue el de la recreación a escala real de una habitación de los años 70, en donde el pequeño espacio, estaba decorado con objetos de la época. Me quería quedar ahí, pero ya saben, éramos mucha gente jaja.

Realmente fue una experiencia muy divertida y encantadora, no sólo por el material expuesto, la buena disposición de los guías, sino también por el ánimo de los mismos presentes. Pensar en todas las personas mayores que acudieron y recordaron su infancia durante esa visita, me llenó de un agradable sentimiento. El tiempo pasó tan rápido y cuando nos dimos cuenta, el recorrido había finalizado.

Tanto me abstraje en tan bella experiencia, que al salir fue que me acordé de que había estado lloviendo fuertemente, hecho que olvidé por completo durante toda la visita. Me gustaría volver a ir y ahora que han extendido la exposición hasta Noviembre, a petición del público, estoy pensando en hacerlo un día en que la cola no sea tan extensa jaja.
