HI Hivers!
After many months of working 6 sometimes 7 days a week, I thought It was time to get away for a few days. Retreat to a spa with salt pools and deep tissue massage!
Airbnb always has interesting locations hidden within its numerous listings and this one stood out as the kind of place that would suit me just nicely.
I arrived just before sunset. The atmosphere was warm and the scent of evening filtered through the air.
A whole five days with no work and pure fun and relaxation lay ahead!
The salt pools looked so inviting. I just couldn't wait any longer.
Breakfast always tastes so good when someone else makes it for you.
Yoga and meditation by the pool with the gentle sound of chattering water was an absolute delight.
There were four cats on site , all friendly, loving the snugs - but this lovely girl was often sat outside my door waiting for some human contact. I don't know how she lost an eye, bless her. She was the sweetest girl, with the tiniest of meows.
I enjoyed delicious vegetarian food and had a couple of superb massages.
One of the highlights of the visit was riding out exploring on an amazing electric bike.
This beauty did 150-180km on a charge. Great acceleration and had the power to get up steep hills even. Cruised comfortably on the open road at 28 kph with a ten speed gear box, and 5 levels of pedal assist power. The top speed was more but that was enough for me in my blissed out state of mind. Just so much fun! I love electric bikes, you can exercise just as much as you want, when you want and then let the power assist take over. The basket on the front was a nice extra. This is a folding bike.
too heavy for me to want to carry it anywhere but the folding does mean it can be stored in a small space or carried easily in the back of a car if you need/want to.
It was a fabulous getaway and I left feeling like it had really regenerated me. Also it left me thinking ... I really must get myself an electric bike.
