STREET ART #102 - Portraying locals in Elsinore, Denmark

DSC_01.JPG

I have already done several posts with street art from Helsingør / Elsinore in Denmark. Besides the citycenter, there are many underpasses right outside the city. All of them are close together and located in a residential area, close to a school. The underpasses are decorated with different themes.

This underpass has amazing, large portraits of men, women and children. The artist behind this work is Andreas Welin. He is a Danish street artist living in Copenhagen. The place where the underpass is located is called «Nøjsomhed» which is characterized by being a multicultural area.

The portraits he has done here are portraits of local people. Most of them are residing in this neighborhood. Some of them are people who uses the underpass on a daily basis. The beautiful artwork he presents here is intended to show the multiculturalism of this Nøjsomhed. I do think he has managed that brilliantly.
