Buen día mis queridos amigos
Cada 3 de octubre se conmemora el día del Odontólogo en Latinoamérica y como les he comentado anteriormente, para mí es por supuesto un orgullo poder ser parte de esta profesión tan bendecida con la que podemos ofrecerles a nuestros pacientes salud de la mejor manera, creando para ellos las sonrisas más saludables y bellas. Sin embargo, la odontología va mucho más allá de solo mantener sonrisas bonitas.
Good morning my dear friends
Every October 3rd is commemorated the Dentist's Day in Latin America and as I have told you before, for me it is of course a pride to be part of this blessed profession with which we can offer our patients health in the best way, creating for them the healthiest and most beautiful smiles. However, dentistry goes far beyond just maintaining beautiful smiles.
Nosotros los odontólogos somos los encargados de mantener la salud de todo el sistema estomatognático el cual está conformado por dientes, encías, huesos, nervios y músculos qué forman nuestra cavidad bucal. Incluso somos los responsables de detectar cualquier enfermedad que en ella se presente así como también debemos estar capacitados para detectar alguna manifestación de otras enfermedades que se puedan estar presentando en boca. Tener nuestra cavidad bucal en buen estado no solo te genera bienestar y buena apariencia, también favorece nuestra autoestima y nos ayuda a comer adecuadamente para favorecer posteriormente la digestión de los alimentos.
We dentists are responsible for maintaining the health of the entire stomatognathic system which is made up of teeth, gums, bones, nerves and muscles that form our oral cavity. We are even responsible for detecting any disease that may occur in it as well as we must also be trained to detect any manifestation of other diseases that may be occurring in the mouth. Having our oral cavity in good condition not only generates wellness and good appearance, it also favors our self-esteem and helps us to eat properly to promote the digestion of food.
Ser odontólogo es una de las cosas que más disfruto en la vida. Crecí amando esta profesión porque mi madre es odontólogo y siempre la acompañaba tanto en el consultorio como en reuniones con colegas. Soy parte del gremio incluso antes de pensar en estudiar odontología ☺️, por eso cada 3 de octubre en mi familia celebramos este día con la misma pasión, orgullo y dedicación con la que ejercemos nuestra vocación día a día
Being a dentist is one of the things I enjoy most in life. I grew up loving this profession because my mother is a dentist and I always accompanied her both in the office and in meetings with colleagues. I am part of the profession even before I thought of studying dentistry ☺️, so every October 3rd in my family we celebrate this day with the same passion, pride and dedication with which we practice our vocation every day.
El 3 de octubre de este año fue bastante especial, puesto que mi mamá, al igual que varios de nuestros colegas, fueron reconocidos por su amplia trayectoria y años de servicio en el estado Monagas, otro motivo de orgullo y celebración.
October 3 of this year was quite special, since my mother, as well as several of our colleagues, were recognized for their extensive career and years of service in the state of Monagas, another reason for pride and celebration.
Comenzamos el día asistiendo a la misa de acción de gracia que organiza todos los años la junta directiva de nuestro gremio, una misa que se celebró en la catedral de Maturín y que estuvo cargada de mucha emoción y bellos momentos. Al finalizar la misa nos dirigimos al sitio donde se realizó el evento conmemorativo para los colegas.
We started the day by attending the mass of thanksgiving organized every year by the board of directors of our guild, a mass that was held in the cathedral of Maturin and that was full of emotion and beautiful moments. At the end of the mass we went to the place where the commemorative event was held for our colleagues.
Este año fueron homenajeados los colegas que cumplían 5-10-15-20-25-30-35-40-45 y 50 años de servicio odontológico, a mí no me correspondió entrar en el acto, pues apenas tengo 7 años de ser odontólogo. Sin embargo, mi mamá fue conmemorada por haber cumplido 35 años de servicio odontológico ¿se dice fácil verdad?
This year the colleagues who celebrated 5-10-15-20-25-30-35-40-45 and 50 years of dental service were honored. It was not my turn to be part of the ceremony, since I have only been a dentist for 7 years. However, my mother was commemorated for having completed 35 years of dental service, isn't that easy to say?
Mi mamá no solo es ejemplo de mujer y madre, sino también de profesional. Es mi mayor ejemplo de que no hay edad para dejar de hacer bien las cosas y que lo que se hace con pasión siempre sale bien y rinde buenos frutos. De ella aprendí que nuestros pacientes merecen lo mejor de nosotros y lo mejor que le podemos dar es mantenernos al día con cada actualización odontológica o ligada a nuestra área que exista. Ella tiene 35 años de haber recibido título de odontólogo, pero cada año suma más y más títulos de estudios adicionales para ofrecer lo mejor de esta hermosa profesión a nuestros pacientes. Sin duda mi mamá es increíble, ella me enseñó a amar esta carrera y a ejercerla con tanta dignidad y orgullo.
My mom is not only an example of a woman and a mother, but also a professional. She is my greatest example that there is no age to stop doing things well and that what is done with passion always turns out well and pays off. From her I learned that our patients deserve the best from us and the best we can give them is to keep up to date with every dental update or update related to our field that exists. She has been a dentist for 35 years, but every year she adds more and more additional degrees to offer the best of this beautiful profession to our patients. Without a doubt my mom is amazing, she taught me to love this career and to practice it with such dignity and pride.
Soy demasiado feliz de ser odontólogo y agradezco a Dios poder permitirme ejercer libremente y ayudar a tantas personas a sonreír.
I am so happy to be a dentist and thank God for allowing me to practice freely and help so many people smile.
