Beer Tasting: Mars Colony and LeLa

Hello, beer lovers and everyone else! 🍻

How are you feeling today? Maybe a trip on a sunny Saturday like here?
I was busy this morning paying some outstanding bills, which took me a while.
In the afternoon, in the sunshine, I mowed the grass, for the sixth time this year (I usually do it four times at most) and hope it's over.

Well, the weathermen say that the autumn sunny days are definitely over and that tomorrow the temperature will drop by fifteen degrees Celsius and the snow is expected at altitudes above 1000 m.

I am not too bothered about this because, after all, we are deep into autumn and it's time for the weather to change.

While the temperature will be dropping, I'm on my 328th #beersaturday and everything is just OK.

beer

As you can see, I have two chilled cans in front of me, one Slovenian and one Croatian, and I believe they will be quite good. (These chillies are just for decoration, the last harvest this year, I will dry them and put them in oil)

Green Gold Mars Colony Red Ale

beer

Brewed by Green Gold Brewing, Ε empeter v Savinjski dolini, Slovenia.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 5.0% ABV, 40 IBU.
It's a Red Ale or International Aber Ale style beer, which means that's amber or light brown colored, hoppy, and with a caramel malty flavor.

What do the Master Brewers say?

Before we presented it to the Earthlings, we did a tasting on Mars. The red-coloured brew, which we have named Mars Colony and which represents the Pale Ale style, is extremely refreshing. It might even convince you that it really is from another planet. You can see for yourself how the (admittedly earthy) hop varieties Aurora, Centennial, Styrian Wolf and Styrian Fox fared among the Martians. Great news? You don't have to go to the Red Planet to get it, because we've imported it to our home planet, Green Gold.

These guys are trying to be pranksters ... I mean I tasted some Green Gold beers and they're all very good.

beer

The beer is light brown, unfiltered, the head is solid and disappears quickly. It smells of hops. A sip goes down the throat nicely and I taste a pleasant hop bitterness in the mouth, which is predominant but not overpowering. More in the background is the taste of grapefruit and lemon, maybe really a hint of caramel, but very little.
In the aftertaste, only the dry hop bitterness remains for a while.

beer

A very drinkable and refreshing beer for my taste, not too bitter, just right, reminds me of the beers I used to drink years ago when I was wandering around the pubs in Soho, London. A real, very drinkable English Ale.
The price is €2.19, which is fine for a beer like this, and it's available in Hofer stores. A can will certainly be chilling in my fridge.

🍻 😎 🍻

I haven't found a good meme today, but, I'm getting ready for Halloween :)

By the way, these are all edible pumpkins, just today I got a recipe for roasted Muscat pumpkin with feta cheese - I'll try to make it, definitely, ASAP :) πŸ˜‹
The Muscat pumpkin is the green one, the biggest one, it's supposed to turn orange, but my sister tells me that the green ones are ripe too.

Let's go on with the beer!

5th Element LELA (aLE and LAger)

beer

Brewed by Pivovara Daruvar, Daruvar, Croatia.
Can, 0.5 l, alcohol 4.5 % ABV, 20 IBU.

What do the Master Brewers say?

The unique fusion of the two beer styles - Ale and Lager - gives this beer the best of both styles and makes it lager-like as well as the element it symbolises - Water.
Ale beer adds a mild hoppy ester aroma that only beer fermented at a higher temperature has, while lager beer gives the basic body and freshness to this unique beer.

Well, that is, if nothing else, at least interesting. Two brewing processes mixed together.
I bought it in Croatia a couple of weeks ago, along with some other 5th Element beers.

beer

The beer is golden in color, and the head is solid and disappears quickly. Malty smell.
A sip goes down the throat smoothly, first I taste the sweetness of the malt and then immediately, in equal measure, the bitterness of the hops and the discreet flavors of grass and hay.
A moderate hop bitterness lingers in the aftertaste for some time.

beer

A drinkable and refreshing beer, but nothing distinctive or special. Nothing overpowering, the mild sweetness of the malt and the bitterness of the hops harmonized throughout and that's it.
The price of all 5th Element beers is €2.10, we don't have them here, but if I'm in Croatia, where I'm still quite often, I'd prefer one of their ABA beers I tried two weeks ago.

🍻 😎 🍻

And what am I listening to when I taste beers and write this?
Nothing from yesterday's #newtunes post but it's related to Steven Wilson, who I featured.
