Cuando juego ajedrez en el barrio soy capaz de ver jugadas y combinaciones con muchas más claridad como observador de una partida que como jugador. Esto es un fenómeno que seguramente se repite en la mayoría de las personas.
Hace apenas unas horas la federación inglesa de fútbol anunció al técnico alemán Thomas Tuchel cómo nuevo director técnico de la selección, esta ha sido una noticia que ha impactado negativamente en varios técnicos de origen inglés. Alegan estos, de manera resumida, que en el circuito inglés existen entrenadores con el suficiente nivel para dirigir a la selección mayor, sin tener que contar con asesoría extranjera.
Este tipo de opinión no pienso que esté tan lejos de la realidad. Sin embargo, existen aspectos en los que se pueden sacar conclusiones que justifiquen la contratación de un técnico extranjero. Por ejemplo, si tenemos en cuenta esta lógica de emplear profesionales ingleses para dirigir, entonces no sería descabellado decir que todos los técnicos de los clubes participantes en la Premier League deberían ser ingleses, cosa que no es así. Ojo, la calidad de los entrenadores ingleses es indiscutible, (de hecho ojalá la selección cubana tuviera la posibilidad de contar con alguno) sin embargo, los dueños de equipos han preferido técnicos de otras nacionalidades, seguramente porque aportan visiones y puntos de vista diferentes que ayudan a los equipos a alcanzar nuevos niveles de calidad.
When I play chess in the neighborhood I am able to see moves and combinations much more clearly as an observer of a game than as a player. This is a phenomenon that is probably repeated by most people.
Just a few hours ago the English soccer federation announced the German coach Thomas Tuchel as the new manager of the national team, this has been a news that has had a negative impact on several coaches of English origin. They claim, in short, that in the English circuit there are coaches with the sufficient level to manage the senior national team, without having to rely on foreign advice.
I do not think that this type of opinion is so far from reality. However, there are aspects in which conclusions can be drawn to justify the hiring of a foreign coach. For example, if we take into account this logic of employing English professionals to manage, then it would not be unreasonable to say that all the coaches of the clubs participating in the Premier League should be English, which is not the case. The quality of English coaches is indisputable (in fact, I wish the Cuban national team had the possibility of having some of them), however, team owners have preferred coaches of other nationalities, surely because they bring different visions and points of view that help teams reach new levels of quality.
En segundo lugar, y siguiendo esta línea, en los últimos años los equipos dominadores de la Liga Inglesa han sido precisamente dirigidos por técnicos extranjeros (Guardiola, Klopp, Arteta, Conte, Mourinho) justificando así aún más mi idea plantada anteriormente. Tuchel está incluido entre los técnicos mencionados, y recordemos que llegó a ganar la Champions dirigiendo el Chelsea. Su estilo ofensivo probablemente se adapte muy bien al material humano que se encontrará en su nuevo equipo. Ya sabemos que Inglaterra está plagada de jóvenes futbolistas capaces de anotar goles hasta con el pensamiento. De hecho, estoy loco por ver un partido de este equipo dirigido por Tuchel.
Por tanto, de la misma manera en que una persona es capaz de ver con mayor claridad desde afuera los movimientos en el ajedrez, un entrenador que no sea anglosajón también es capaz de hacerse cargo del seleccionado inglés, precisamente por tener una visión diferente a la que quizás tengan los técnicos nacidos en Inglaterra.
Secondly, and following this line, in recent years the dominant teams in the English League have been led by foreign coaches (Guardiola, Klopp, Arteta, Conte, Mourinho) further justifying my idea planted above.
