We finished our stay at Colegio San Judas Tadeo de La Pastora in Caracas. A wonderful experience, surrounded by very curious kids and motivated to learn more about our web3 world.
I arrived about ten minutes late due to the traffic, however we had enough time to cover all the topics.
One thing I always talk about is Bitcoin Pizza Day and since it is coming up, I put more emphasis on that story. The kids love it and I test their math by asking them how much that 10k BTC would equal today. What amazes me a lot is that most of them need to use the calculator, being a simple multiplication.
Another topic I talk a bit about is artificial intelligence and how it is going to influence the professional field. Let's remember that in a few weeks they will be graduating from high school and will have to make the decision of which career to study.
This generation must include the topic of AI in their analysis of the decision to be made. It is important that they do not study for five years a career that is going to disappear. I don't have the magic wand to know what they will be, but I leave them with the curiosity to do more research. Also that way they realize how technology changes our lives and that's when I come in talking about blockchain.
I go through financial topics, motivating them to save. I open their eyes and minds to realize the importance of digital property that web3 gives us. At the end they didn't want to ask questions because of shyness, but I told them I would give them Hive wristbands and they all started asking questions hahahaha.
Something I included that I had forgotten to do is @liketu and they really liked it. Just from the image alone they knew it was similar to Instagram. However, the question I always ask them is: Who has an Instagram account? When everyone raised their hand, I told them to put it down, that it's a lie, that Instagram accounts belong to META and are not theirs, that only in web3 we have the property and that I can say that I have an account in HIVE...

Finalizamos nuestra estadía en el Colegio San Judas Tadeo de La Pastora en Caracas. Una experiencia maravillosa, rodeados de chicos muy curiosos y motivados en conocer más de nuestro mundo web3.
Llegué unos diez minutos tarde por el tráfico que había, sin embargo tuvimos el tiempo para cubrir todos los temas.
Algo de lo que siempre hablo es del Bitcoin Pizza Day y aprovechando que se acerca, hice más énfasis en esa historia. A los chicos les encanta y pruebo sus matemáticas preguntándoles a cuánto equivaldrían hoy esos 10 mil BTC. Lo que me asombra mucho es que la mayoría necesita usar la calculadora, siendo una multiplicación sencilla.
Otro de los temas de los que hablo un poco es la inteligencia artificial y cómo va a influir en el ámbito profesional. Recordemos que en pocas semanas ya se gradúan de bachilleres y deben tomar la decisión de cuál carrera estudiar.
Esta generación debe incluir el tema de la IA en su análisis sobre la decisión a tomar. Es importante que no estudien cinco años una carrera que va a desaparecer. No tengo la barita mágica para saber cuáles serán, pero les dejo la curiosidad para que investiguen más. También de esa forma se dan cuenta de cómo la tecnología nos cambia la vida y es ahí cuando entro hablando de blockchain.
Paso por temas financieros, motivando al ahorro. Les abro los ojos y la mente para que se den cuenta de la importancia de la propiedad digital que nos da la web3. Al final no querían hacer preguntas por timidez, pero les dije que les daría pulseras de Hive y todos comenzaron a preguntar jajajaja.
Algo que incluí y que se me había olvidado hacerlo, es a @liketu y les gustó mucho. Solo con la imagen supieron que era parecida a Instagram.
