Night photography in the city of Aalborg, Denmark (10 photos)

DSC_01.JPG

Aalborg is one of the larger cities in Denmark. I think it might be the 4th or 5th largest. It's located in the northern part of the country by Limfjorden. Two bridges connect the two parts of town on each side of the fjord. One of them is the railway bridge. But in resent years et påbygg which is for pedestrians only has been added. That part is called «Kulturbroen». Aalborg has a history that goes back to the vikings. It is believed they founded the city sometime in the 7th century. Because of it's location by the fjord and a good harbour it became a prosperous city because of trade.

One night me and one of my sisters desided to take a look at Aalborg but at night. We took the bus across the bridge and got off at the Nørresundby side. We were surprised to see how the street art underneath the pilars that support the bridge was illuminated with colored light. From here we walked along the fjord to the railway bridge and crossed the fjord, back to the other side.

This is the railway bridge. After getting back to the other side we then could look back on the opposite side as we walked along the harbour front. Even our walk was in november, the weather was pleasant, making it a lovely excursion.
