The magic of colors, light and shadows (9 photos)

DSC_01.JPG

It happens often that I bring my camera with me when I go to work. Sometimes it's just in case I come around something interesting or take a detour on my way home. There is allways something that catches the eye. I have just returned from a holiday and going through both these photos, but also files from the previous two years. When I look at the photos, I see that I'm quite hung up on details such as doors and windows. I have a lot of such detail pictures. When going through the photos, I notice other details like the play of light and shadow on surfaces like walls.

This photo shows part of the roof and the glass facade on the front of a building in Kristiansand - Kilden Theater and Concert Hall. It has a special architecture, which may not be shown so well here. But it is the roof that is orange and shaped like waves, reflected in the glass. The building is located right on the harbourfront, so having an architecture shaped like waves fits in well with the location.

Windows with bars also provide a good opportunity for shadows. Especially windows with grilles in front. The pictures were also taken in the summer and in the middle of the day when the sun is strong. This is just a little selection from different places like my hometown Kristiansand, the Azores ( Portugal), Argentina and Uruguay.
