That's when I heard it for the first time. I can say that I really liked the song from that moment on. Before that I had never paid much attention to Sinatra before, but after hearing that song, it kind of stuck in my head so to speak. I find it funny that after listening many times to the song or the message it never sounded simple to me in terms of what it says.

In fact, one of the things I value most about the song, besides the music of course, since that is an important part of the success it has had, is its lyrics. I like how it talks about living life your way, you know, making your decisions without regretting too much what you did. Of course this is partly up to the listener's interpretation. In my case I interpret it as not regretting the good decisions that led you to have a better future or success at the cost of sacrificing other things of less value. In the case of mistakes I always say that you have to regret them, there if someone thinks otherwise or interprets the song differently. When you make a mistake it is always important to regret them and of course to do what you can to improve it so that it doesn't happen again. So that's my way of looking at the song.

If you were to ask me now, what do you like most about the song? I would have a clear answer. I like the directness of My Way. I mean it in the sense that it doesn't have those poetic embellishments or those complicated metaphors that we sometimes find in songs. It just says what it means, I lived my life, I made my choices, and I did it my way. Period. There's no need to read too much into it. And I think in a world where things often seem more complicated than they should be, hearing something that simple is refreshing. At least that's my opinion.
