Web2 walled gardens

Every time I try to come up with a new initiative for POSH to help incentivize and reward our active members of our community growing their presence over there while in an attempt to drive traffic towards our ecosystem I keep hitting a wall.

As if it wasn't enough that Twitter's API made the automation of POSH tweet detection and rewarding system we've put so much time and effort into obsolete, I now noticed that you can't even check your analytics any longer unless you're paying Twitter. Aside from them telling you how many impressions you've had the past week on your profile now and then without being able to go into detail.

One thing I've learned over the years, though, is that we're quite resilient in this ecosystem. Blockchains in general are, with many in this day and age still being alive and active even though barely anyone uses them. I guess that's the great thing about this technology and I appreciate some of the core developers working on hive seeing to it that the cost to run it is being constantly developed on to keep as low as possible and allow anyone to enter governance and block production with as little hardware as possible.

While Twitter could continue to throw roadblocks at us, Reddit could block out their current free API access, I think we'll continue to find ways to incentivize people in one way or another to try and let the world know about our existence and get some rewards at the same time doing so. That's another thing I really love about Hive that the rewards-pool can be used in many different ways to reward contributions of different kinds as long as the ecosystem and stakeholders think it's being done for the right reasons.

So what are we planning for the foreseeable future in regards to POSH?

Here's a few things.

Weekly posts to gather top traffic analytics from sharers.

This could easily be in the form of comments, sharers could show screenshots of their top shares that week. Since both Reddit and Twitter offer these analytics (the latter partial) but only to the account owners, we'd have to rely on them sharing to showcase their activity. This could then be rewarded in the form of upvotes and delegations.

It'd be a good time now that we're trying to fund different things with @poshtoken to halt powerdown for a while and give good sharers additional delegations that'll affect their hive journey. These would remain active until the initiative ends or if the recipients stopped sharing actively.

For example, a weekly delegation of 1000 HP going to the top 5 that shared that week, potentially some restrictions so it's not always the same top 5 but not so much that they'd completely skip sharing the next week if they ended up winning the week before, maybe just one rank decrease for the next week thus still eligible for additional delegation.

Hive asset giveaways.

We've hosted quite a few game asset giveaways in the past, such as @splinterland packs, @wrestorgonline land, @muterra nfts, etc. We could restart these for increased sharing activity based on which game's assets we're giving away that week for sharers to earn some hive, posh and additional in-game assets.

We're looking forward to hosting a lot of different activities that bring some traffic and value to our ecosystem while rewarding those performing said sharing tasks.

We'll also continue to provide transparency reports of what the author reward funds are being used towards while maintaining a working project.

We'll have some extra liquid Hive coming our way to @poshtoken soon since at first we loaned @commentrewarder a bunch to manage liquidity of its tips, but thanks to @vcelier who out of the blue gifted @commentrewarder 10,000 Hive Power, we'll be able to take care of its liquidity by powering down some of that stake. Big shout-out to him as his generosity was a big motivation to continue building things on Hive!

Another big shout-out to @cryptoreforma and @x-rain for delivering some great experimentation of sharing in different subreddits to provide @poshtoken with a nice starting list to pin to the account so other sharers have an easier time finding hive-friendly link sharing subreddits in the future!

Thanks for reading and keep sharing!
