MYSELF:>
Good day folks! Let me introduce myself. I am Ara Beia, a 19 - year old incoming 2nd year student in Medical Technology. I was born on October in Butuan City, Agusan Del Norte. My dad,a minister in our church, and my mom raised me together with my siblings, one is a 15-year old who is an incoming 11th grade student, and another is a 12-year old who is an incoming 8th grade. I am the eldest among my siblings so my parents are expecting me to be responsible especially in the near future.
I’m actually an introverted person and I’m constantly drained in social events. So I tend to hide or escape from these because I just find it comforting and relaxing when I’m by myself, but at the same time I can’t help but feel lonely. There are times that I’m being so loud and acting crazy and weird, but I only show it to people that I feel comfortable with. I really have I have a fear of talking in front of so many people, the deep waters, the heights, animals and insects that I find creepy and deadly, and death.
MY LIFE IN COLLEGE👩🔬
BEFORE
Days after my high school graduation, when I was about to apply for college admissions, I was bewildered about the degrees I would take in (Medical field really is my number one option since I’m really curious about it). For me, this was the most stressful situation I have encountered in my life because of course, this is a hard nut to crack. Like I really need to make a firm decision so that I won’t end up shifting courses which is a waste of time. So, what I did was, I let my mom suggest all of the medical courses offered in my chosen university. When my mom suggested that I should take Medical Technology or Medical Laboratory Science, there was strange feeling inside me saying that this might be the right course for me. So, therefore, I made up my mind to enter into the world of Medical Technology.
DURING
I was homesick during my first days of college since my family lives miles away from where I stay, but I tried to just shrug it away and instead focus on my dreams. I was quite overwhelmed by the class system because it is different from what I saw in high school and elementary. But anyways, I’ve met some people there and instantly became friends but we couldn’t really hang out often like going to malls or somewhere, because of financial limitations. And as my mom said, “You’re being sent there just to study, not to wander around.” Now that I’m in college, I now realized what many people said that living college life is such burdensome and stressful. I guarantee you, it’s true because imagine having financial problems and at the same time, you are studying as well and we all know that studying in college is hard. I also have to do groceries, laundry, budgeting my allowance and stuff while studying. And I said to myself that, “college really is different from what you’re used to”. But, on the bright side, these are only temporary and I know that a few years from now, I will now achieve the things that I have dreamt of since forever.
HOBBIES🐱
I mostly spend my time playing musical instruments, such as organ, ukulele, and guitar and I enjoy singing while playing them. I also grew to love cats, ever since we had one. I also love eating any foods that satisfy me. Aside from that, I also love cooking and baking foods for my family. In addition, reading romance stories are my thing, and it makes me escape from the real world. Travelling around the world has been my dream since forever, and hopefully in the future, I can settle my life in Switzerland or Australia. WHO INTRODUCED ME TO HIVE?
It is my little sister who introduced me and at first I had second thoughts about it but eventually, I gave in because I want to share to other people about my life.
When we were having an online orientation, there were a lot of things that I have learned from the lectures, and thought to myself that "Oh! this platform is nice. I would like to make it a try. Like I've never done blogging before. So why I'll give it a shot?"
I would like to thank my sister @gialleria for introducing me to this platform and Ma'am @dehai for assisting me to be a part of the HIVE community. Now that I'm here, I feel excitement in meeting and connecting with other people, and learn about the life that revolves around them.
HOW WILL I CONTRIBUTE TO THIS PLATFORM?
I will contribute to this platform by sharing my experiences in life to people so that they can learn something valuable. Aside from that, I can establish friendships and connections between other people. Furthermore, I can also share this platform to my friends, and acquaintances so that they too can share their personal lives and at the same time, spreading knowledge and information to other people.
WHAT WOULD HIVE EXPECT FROM ME?
I will try my best to spread such valuable knowledge and insights to people who seek advice or tips for them to learn. Furthermore, to establish good relationships between people in the HIVE.
