Tomorrow is a big day for Nikon — they will officially release new line of mirrorless cameras with a new Z-mount…
Japanese site Nokishita Camera has a reputation of the “official rumours and leaks” treasurie. And they did it again: day before the official announcement, they have presented Nikon’s long-teased FF mirrorles models. Yes, models, because there are two of them: Z6 and Z7.

Nikon Rumours has reported specifications of both models and first three FF lenses with the Nikon Z-to-F lens adapter. Lenses will be:
- Nikon Z-Nikkor 24-70mm f/4 kit lens
- Nikon Z-Nikkor 35mm f/1.8
- Nikon Z-Nikkor 50mm f/1.8
(See at Nokishita)
Last year Nikon patented two new FF lenses: Nikkor 52mm f/0.9 and 36mm f/1.2 full frame mirrorless lenses, but we will still have to wait for those.
New Z-bodies have similar form factor as Sony A7 series, and are significantly smaller and lighter comparing to Nikon’s top DSLR, D850…
Now let’s see some specifications compared to D850:
We are yet to see battery life, and brace yourselves for the price announcement!
And of course, the news would not be complete without the main competitor: Nokishita reports Canon will also announce TWO Full Frame cameras very soon! At Mirrorles Rumors you will find this pic:
I have to say this doesn’t look authentic to me, but if it is authentic, then we could safely conclude that Canon got the message from Fujifilm and designed it in the retro style that very much reminds on their most successful film model — Canon AE-1.
Looking forward to Photokina this year!
