alternatetext

August Rush is a 2007 American musical drama film directed by Kirsten Sheridan. It tells the story of a young musical prodigy named Evan Taylor (Freddie Highmore) who runs away from his orphanage in search of his birth parents.

Evan believes that the music he hears all around him is a message from his parents, and he sets out to find them by following the music. He ends up in New York City, where he meets a homeless man named Wizard (Robin Williams) who takes him under his wing.

Wizard gives Evan the name "August Rush" and starts promoting him as a child prodigy. August's music quickly captures the attention of the public, and he is soon invited to perform at a major concert in Central Park.

Meanwhile, Evan's birth parents, Lyla Novacek (Keri Russell) and Louis Connelly (Jonathan Rhys Meyers), are also searching for him. Lyla is a cellist who was forced to give up her son for adoption after she had him out of wedlock. Louis is a musician who never knew that he had a son.

Lyla and Louis eventually cross paths with August, and they are reunited as a family. The film ends with August conducting his own symphony at the concert in Central Park, with his parents by his side.

August Rush is a heartwarming and inspiring film about the power of music and the importance of family. It is a story about love, loss, and redemption.
