In Rocky IV, Rocky Balboa (Sylvester Stallone) is the reigning heavyweight champion of the world.

A new challenger has emerged: Ivan Drago (Dolph Lundgren), a powerful and undefeated boxer from the Soviet Union. Drago is determined to beat Rocky and prove the superiority of the Soviet system.

Before meeting Rocky, Drago enters into an exhibition match against Apollo Creed (Carl Weathers). The beating is brutal, with Apollo being killed in the ring. Rocky is in his corner, refusing to throw in the towel.

To avenge his friend's death, Rocky decides to take on Drago. The fight is to take place in Russia as well as Rocky's training.

The rematch between Rocky and Drago is held in Moscow on Christmas Day. The fight is a close one, but Rocky is able to win by knockout in the 15th round. Rocky proved again he is the best.

Rocky IV is a story about the importance of overcoming adversity and never giving up on your dreams. It is a classic film that has inspired people around the world.

The film also explores the themes of the Cold War and the rivalry between the United States and the Soviet Union. Drago is portrayed as a symbol of Soviet power, and his victory over Rocky is seen as a blow to American pride. However, Rocky's victory in the rematch is seen as a triumph of the American spirit.

  • Brigitte Nielsen as Ludmilla Vobet Drago: Wife and supporter of Ivan Drago, and Olympic swimming champion. In real-life, Nielsen was engaged to Stallone during the production, and married shortly after the release. They appeared together once again in 1986's Cobra, before they divorced in 1987.
  • Dolph Lundgren as Captain Ivan Drago: the Soviets' prize Champion boxer "The Siberian Express" and a Soviet Army infantry captain
  • Tony Burton as Tony "Duke" Evers: Apollo's father-figure, friend, trainer and manager, who becomes Rocky's trainer for his match against Drago.
  • Michael Pataki as Nicolai Koloff: Trainer, promoter, and manager of Ivan Drago.
