What Is GHAWG?
#GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

Harry glared at me, but he finally took delivery of the letter Manny Rey charged me with delivering. Once he opened the letter, I began to walk away; my job was done. Behind me Harry went from angry to remorseful in 60 seconds.
🏍️ As far as David Guardia was concerned, it was "Mission Accomplished"; how wrong he was.
🏍️ Until this zapfic entry, Harry Hoqualogue was presented as a stone-cold killer even after serving time in prison. His reaction to the contents of the letter Manny Rey had David Guardia deliver for him show how powerful his relationship with Manny Rey had been.

Harry looked like he saw a ghost
as he read the letter aloud. Then
he said to me "Only Gromit
called me that." There was a
minute of silence before Harry
said to me "Please forgive me."

Wallace & Gromit is a British claymation comedy media franchise created by Nick Park of Aardman Animations... The series revolves around the adventures of Wallace, a good-natured and eccentric cheese-loving inventor, along with his companion Gromit, a silent yet loyal and intelligent anthropomorphic dog.

Given what we've learned about both Manny Rey and Harry Hoqualogue during the course of this zapfic serial, it seems odd that these two characters would have bonded over this animated series. Yet this is precisely why I chose it for something only they would know about.

If Manny Rey could find a way to forgive someone who had killed him, then I could forgive Harry and his Mongols for what they did to me. I turned around and approached Harry with a hand extended in forgiveness. We shook hands.
🏍️ Crisis averted. The ride to STURGIS is over, but the adventure continues for David Guardia. Since The Mongols' home is California, we'll be seeing more of Harry Hoqualogue.

When Harry and I began talking, it was as if nothing happened. The rest of the crew began to shoot the breeze with Mongols who were ready to kill them. Rhonda found me telling Harry about my trip from Bayonne to Sturgis.
🏍️ Normality (such as it is) has been restored. This zapfic entry can be considered a reset for the story. David Guardia's ride to STURGIS is over, but he has more he needs to get done before "Mission Accomplished" can truly mean what it should mean for him.

"What's that second letter?" asked Rhonda.
Harry and I looked at each other, then Harry
looked at the open envelope.
"Well ain't that a kick in the kiester,"
said Harry. After he looked at this letter
he said "This is for you."
🏍️ Moses had Aaron and Miriam to help him. Captain Kirk had Mister Spock to fill in the gaps for him. David Guardia has Rhonda Bella.
🏍️ With more characters entering the story, I needed a way to get them more involved. When the time came and I figured out how I could do that, I decided to use the "letter inside a letter" concept to switch to the next stage of the story. Remember, just getting the letter from Manny Rey back in Ohio was itself a strange thing to happen to David Guardia.

Harry handed me this letter addressed to "The Courier." After opening the letter, I saw the photograph of a group of bikers dressed in safety yellow riding through town at night. Photo caption: Riding through Portland, Oregon.
🏍️ Portland is the scene for the next moment of truth for David Guardia. It's also where the zapfic serial will make a callback to an earlier entry.

I showed Rhonda this message.
"I began this ride so I could go to Sturgis.
I'm here, but my ride isn't over."
"When do we go to Portland?" Rhonda asked.
"Soon, but not yet. As with this ride,
it'll unfold before us as needed."
🏍️ Rhonda Bella is all-in with David Guardia no matter what task he is given by The Lord. She feels herself called to be his co-pilot, and she fills in the gaps for him. he belief in him and his mission is total and unquestioning.

Story Arc So Far
David Guardia finally makes sure that Harry Hoqualogue takes delivery of the mysterious message left with him by the uncanny Manny Rey.
This was made possible by the message containing information known only to Harry and Manny Rey. This message moved Harry so greatly that he felt genuine remorse not only for how he had been treating David, but also for having killed Manny Rey long ago. David noticed how moved Harry was, and he forgave him and the Mongols acting as henchmen for attempting to kill him.
Just when David thought he was done, Rhonda Bella informs him of a second letter-- sealed inside the original-- addressed to David himself. It turns out that David has more to accomplish long after his arrival at STURGIS; next stop: Portland, Oregon, US. This is when David realizes that The Lord has more in mind for him; his mission to STURGIS was just the start.

Next Week
Zapfic Entries 134-140 show a change to a more carefree atmosphere for everyone. Before beginning the ride from STURGIS to Portland and then to San Diego, Harry Hoqualogue acts as tour guide for David Guardia, Rhonda Bella, and the riders who joined David (namely Hank & Frank {The Brothers Marchenko}, Sanjay Rampersad, and Lionel Odunsi)[!!]
[!!] -- Family names for these four supporting characters were chosen during the composing of this post.
The serial rolls on at LeoThreads where David Guardia's crew and the Mongols make a pit stop at Seattle, Washington, US as a result of previous stops made earlier in their travel to Portland from STRUGIS. Before leaving Seattle, David Guardia goes biblical, 21st Century-style, to leaders of city government at a block party.
