What Is GHAWG?
#GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

When we prepared for bed, I noticed an upgrade I received during my 10-day-long recovery. | "We need to plan our ride east," Sanjay said. "It's not something we want to do last minute when we're reunited," said Lionel. "We remain together much of the way," Hank said. "Let's make an adventure out of it," said Frank. |
| 🏍️ David Guardia and Rhonda Bella (now Rhonda Bella Guardia ) spend the first week of their honeymoon in San Diego, at a hotel near Black's Beach. Despite the unusual height differential between The Newlyweds-- at 2.00 meters, Rhonda is 1 foot taller than David-- David manages to perform one of his first traditional tasks as a husband: to carry his wife through the threshhold and into their honeymoon space. 🏍️ When David was in his 10-day coma at the hospital in Le Claire, Iowa, US, not only was he healed of all his infirmities and ailments, but he also received physical upgrades to his body. Not only had he been healed, but he was better than he was before the near-fatal fuel tanker explosion. One particular upgrade should have been obvious to him the first time he needed to take care of business in a restroom or to take a shower, but his mind was locked in to his new mission and his new status in life. This moment is the first chance he had to actually take advantage of this specific upgrade he received during his recovery back in Iowa. As a TV advertisement for a nutritional supplement I see suggests, Rhonda will like it, too. | 🏍️ The Kids (Sanjay Rampersad, Lionel Odunsi, and now Lindsay Etxeberria) and The Twins (Hank & Frank, the Brothers Marchenko), are left to their own devices while The Newlyweds do The Newlywed Thing. Unlike the ride from STURGIS to San Diego, where they were escorted by Harry Hoqualogue and The Mongols, they will be on their own as they ride east to Chapel Hill, North Carolina, US before the final phase brings the smaller crew back to Iowa. Although there are many paths the downsized version of Our Heroes can take, the easiest path would have been to take the Interstate highways. It's usually makes sense to get a sense of what's out there before formulating a plan for the path to be taken. This was their mission. |

| 🏍️ When David Guardia and Rhonda Bella met at the bar in Davenport, Iowa, US, they took time to learn about each other. Did they get into their relationship histories? It's possible, although if that happened they would have touched on them superficially; after all, they were still strangers who had just met. Whether they discussed their personal relationship histories during their first meeting at the bar in Davenport or not, the honeymoon afforded them the perfect opportunity to discuss their histories in explicit detail. | 🏍️ Just as Lindsay Etxeberria's arrivial set off a chain reaction which caused GHAWG the daily zapfic serial to explode into The GHAWG Universe, it was Lindsay who kicked off the main part of this story. 🏍️ "(Get Your Kicks on) Route 66" is a song first performed in 1946 by Nat King Cole and other singers of his genre. Over the years it has been performed by numerous music artists across various styles. My personal favorite cover of "Route 66" is the techno and electronica version performed by 1980s band Depeche Mode. It's been such a hit for Depeche Mode over the years that a cleaner, faster version was released in the mid-2000s; this is what I listen to when I need to think about GHAWG-related matters. |

Next day at the beach, Rhonda & I saw a sign stating CLOTHING OPTIONAL BEYOND THIS POINT; we stripped bare beyond that sign. After we found a secluded area, she & I re-enacted that iconic scene from From Here to Eternity. | Whatever plans the gearheads & college kids had were scrapped in favor of tracing the path taken by Old Route 66, which had been replaced by the Interstate system. They had to return to L.A. before heading east toward Chicago. |
| 🏍️ Black's Beach in San Diego is one of the more famous clothing-optional beaches in the United States. Other such beaches of that caliber can be found in Florida. Although many others exist throughout the nation, this one is near the top of the list for those interested in such places. 🏍️ From Here to Eternity is a 1953 movie which starred Burt Lancaster and Deborah Kerr; it also starred Montgomery Clift, Frank Sinatra, and Donna Reed. The movie takes place in Hawai'i in 1941 in the period before the bombing of Pearl harbor naval base by the Empire of Japan. Although its main plot revolves around a boxer who was transferred there and his resistance to continue boxing, most people (including "this guy") who have ever heard of this movie know it for one scene:  | 🏍️ Unlike highways on the Interstate system (whose roads are marked by red, white, and blue shields), Route 66 was part of the U. S. Route system of roads which was put in place in an earlier time. Due to the efficiency afforded by the Interstate system, many roads under the U. S. Route system were rendered obsolete. One of those roads, sadly, was Route 66. Route 66 would have been forgotten had it not been for the 1946 song which put it in the culture's consciousness and kept it there ever since. Over the course of nearly 3 decades, sections of the road were phased out even as extensions were added (such as the stretch between San Bernardino and Santa Monica in Los Angeles). There was such outcry over the elimination of Route 66 (known by many people as "The Mother Road"), that numerous areas turned the obsolete road by them into regional landmarks and tourist attractions on the strength of that iconic song. With various road systems overlaying Old Route 66, it's not easy finding the original road using today's maps. So Our Heroes (less The Newlyweds) spent time determining as best as they could how to ride Old Route 66 using modern road systems and nomenclature. |

We explored new ways to know more about each other, even things we never knew until then. It's also true for relations between people as well as with oneself. This is what The Newlyweds are discovering. | 🏍️ Thanks to the Worldwide Web, online resources exist on virtually any conceivable subject. This is true for information about Old Route 66. First Our Heroes find the notable stops along the route defined by Old Route 66. Then they compare older maps with more modern map resources. If a path was specifically marked as being on the original Route 66, that was going to be the path they would ride east once the smaller edition of Our Heroes was reunited. |

| It's one thing for a man & woman to have an extreme height difference. It's another when she is much taller. Then again, our height difference gave us opportunities to engage in the more creative aspects of being husband & wife. | Once everyone was satisfied with their online research, Sanjay & Lionel transcribed the path, sites, and hotels into their notebooks. Nearly everything is digital these days, but it's good to have hardcopy for when devices die. |
| 🏍️ Think of an NBA player paired with an actress of average height. If that's hard to visualize, then consider this pairing: Darth Vader and Princess Leia. Vader is documented as being 2.00 meters (6 feet, 7 inches) in height. Princess Leia (and, for that matter, her twin brother Luke Skywalker) would be much shorter in comparison. That's the height differential between Rhonda Bella Guardia and her husband David. Now consider that Rhonda is the taller one of the couple. Most men wouldn't think of being with a taller woman, never mind a woman 1 foot (30 cm) taller. Then again, David Guardia is not most men. David is secure enough in his being that something like height would not bother him. It also helps that, for all intents and purposes, Rhonda is the woman he had been dreaming about for as long as he could remember. | 🏍️ Just as digital money of any kind is worthless if it cannot be accessed, so it is with online directions. Devices get bricked or damaged. Batteries lose their charge. Electrical grids stop providing electricity to whatever is attached to them. This is why there is always a need for hardcopy, for physical documentation. | One evening Rhonda and I went back to our favorite spot at the beach. Neither of us had been to the beach at night before, and neither of us had felt the cold waves wash over our bare selves beneath the moonlight. We enjoyed it. | Lindsay, Hank, Frank, Sanjay, & Lionel needed to buy some things for the ride east. Hank & Frank made sure everyone had access to "the nitrous" just in case. Sanjay & Lionel bought GoPro camera to document their ride to Chicago. |
| 🏍️ Discovery and exploration aren't limited to expeditions on land or in space. Discovery and exploration are just as important between people; they are things which make a relationship between people most rewarding. While it's expected during a honeymoon, it's even more important years or even decades after entering into a committed relationship of any kind. | 🏍️ Nitrous oxide-- "the nitrous"-- helps to give an internal combustion engine-powered vehicle an extra boost in speed when it is injected into the fuel stream. Examples of nitrous oxide being used are in the Mad Max movies (first starring Mel Gibson, then Tom Hardy, as Max Rockatansky {Mad Max}) and in the 1985 movie Cobra starring Sylvester Stallone. GoPro cameras, or other hands-free cameras, are popular among the adventure-seeking crowd to document trips and exploits. Bodycams used by police do the same thing, only for different purposes. |

| After waking up the next day, we made sure we felt great. The oils we used were extremely useful for the wrestling we would enjoy. We agreed to "fight" until there was a winner. Eventually, we realized that we're both winners. | With preparations for the ride on Old Route 66 out of the way, the gearheads & kids could take it easy and enjoy being in San Diego. The highlight for them was a trip to the San Diego Zoo; they got to act like children again. |
| 🏍️ Normally, wrestling is a form of combat where combatants use their own bodies to overcome opponents. Unlike combat sports such as boxing or martial arts, which at least offer the option of distance between fighters, wrestling can only be practiced body-on-body. This is one reason wrestling is also done recreationally by couples of all persuasions as a way to strengthen the bonds of intimacy (even while attempting to discern weaknesses to be exploited). David and Rhonda Bella Guardia are two competitive individuals, which is a trait needed to succeed in business. During the course of their "wrestling," they discovered other objectives besides simply winning; it's what married people should be doing with each other. | 🏍️ First things's first. | During recovery time we both truly needed, we held each other as we watched on History Channel a program featuring lost treasures from the 1200s "You're my Shieldmaiden." "And you're my Templar." We squeezed each other more. | Lindsay thought she left her recent past behind her; seeing the USS Midway Museum in Downtown San Diego reminded her. "I was protesting all the wars fought in our name," she said to Sanjay. "Being anti-war is OK," Sanjay said. |
| 🏍️ David Guardia was an avid watcher of the historical dramatic series Vikings when it aired on the History Channel. This is where the uncanny Manny Rey reminded David of his interest in a character referred to as The Shieldmaiden, a woman with sufficient fighting skills to fight along side any male warrior. Rhonda Bella, before meeting David, had dreams associated with the Knights Templar, and she recognized David as The Templar of her dreams when she noticed the company logo on the back of his safety yellow sleeveless jacket. She had never seen the Templar's Cross in real life until she had her dreams and later when she met David at the bar in Davenport. The Shieldmaiden and The Templar are a perfect match for each other. | 🏍️ Lindsay Etxeberria came to the realization that she will always be reminded of her past as a far-left activist. However, she is also beginning to realize that many people may share her overall views even if they question the logic and motives behind the actions of the activist class. In this case, more people are anti-war than pro-war; it's just that the pro-war side controls the instituitions which allow wars to happen. What changed for Lindsay is how she approaches these issues going forward. She may not know what to do in the future, but she knows that what she had done in the past wasn't working. |

| When we returned to our room from the beach, we had golden all-over tans. We washed the sand off each other. Then we spent the rest of our stay setting records for speed and endurance. "It's real," said Lionel, "but it's in Colorado." "It's been ages since I saw TV." |
| 🏍️ As newlyweds, David and Rhonda Bella Guardia didn't need to do much as long as they had each other. Their Epic Ride-- put on hold for now-- took care of their travel needs. Neither cared for the traditional wedding-related activities, which (let's face it) are more for the guests than for the bride and groom themselves. They had each other, and for them that was enough. As long as they had each other, they had the time of their lives. | 🏍️ South Park was so pervasive in the culture that even someone like Lindsay Etxeberria, a former activist consumed 24/7 at one time by far-left causes, knew about it. At least she knew enough to know that the series existed and was a big deal for many people. Given the lifestyle she lived after finishing college, she had no time to be watching television unless it was to monitor activist activities. |

| 🏍️ The Newlyweds, David and Rhonda Bella Guardia, knew the intimate and private portion of their honeymoon was coming to an end. They needed to get back to thinking about the rest of the world, specifically the people relying on them for guidance and leadership. Whatever happens to them going forward, they have each other's backs no matter the obstacles before them, no matter the odds they face. | 🏍️ The Brothers Marchenko, Hank and Frank, are known mainly as motorcycle mechanics and gearheads. They are also big-time sports fans: so much so that they had bet on sports events of all kinds. It's how David Guardia found them. So imagine their surprise on seeing a familiar name from their vast reservoir of sports knowledge. 🏍️ Lindsay Etxeberria may have felt like an outsider when she made her earlier comments about South Park. However, she was able to recover from that awkward moment by putting The Twins in their place regarding Grant Hill (the neighborhood, not the basketball player). Whatever happened before during her time as one of Our Heroes, it was this moment when Lindsay was considered one of the guys. |
