What Is GHAWG?
#GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

| When we regrouped, Lionel had informed us that Old Route 66 has a number of official & unofficial ends. We visited them all before we resumed our ride along I-10. We would be on the freeway for 14 miles until reaching Downtown. |

| 🏍️ The original end of Old Route 66 was in downtown Los Angeles at the intersection of 7th Street and Broadway, about 1 mile away from the beach. Later, the official end was extended to the intesection of Lincoln Boulevard and Olympic Bloulevard. In both cases, reaching this end of the road-- to say the least-- was anticlimactic. For that reason, Old Route 66 acquired an "unofficial" end of the road. Made possible in 2009 by a partnership between the Route 66 Alliance and the Santa Monica Pier Restoration Corporation, an unofficial "End of the Trail" sign was posted at the Santa Monica Pier near the famous ferris wheel. 🏍️ Our Heroes were riding east through Los Angeles. The last time they rode through a city like this took place was back in Portland, Oregon, US and Seattle, Washington, US before that. Before these Pacific Northwest cities, the last time David Guardia rode through major cities was when he was riding alone through Cleveland, Ohio, OH. |

| With much of the day spent on foot at Santa Monica, we called it a night in San Bernardino. About 4 miles west was the Wigwam Motel where we scored good rates. Once Rhonda and I had our wigwam, we were happy with the jumpsuits. |

| 🏍️ The last time David Guardia was with the uncanny Manny Rey, they were riding out of Illinois and into Le Claire, Iowa, US. His last meeting with him was during his 10-day coma in the hospital as he was recovering-- and healing-- from the near-fatal fuel tanker explosion. |

| 🏍️ This was an almost exact replay of the conversation the two men had as they spent a couple of days in Defiance, Ohio, US. At the time, when David Guardia knew Manny Rey as a flesh-and-blood co-pilot, he had no idea why he entered his life. This conversation was one David would remember for all his days. |

He told him of how they met, what they discussed, and about the reason hea had at the time for the beginning of what would become his Epic Ride. The stern look an Manny Rey's face was a surprise to David, and he was going to find out why. |

| 🏍️ Although the "prediction" the uncanny Manny Rey had made was correct, it had not occurred to David Guardia that it could have unfolded in a different way, in a way where all key details about "The Shieldmaiden" would be different. This is the first time where David and Manny Rey had competing intepretations about who the shieldmaiden was supposed to be. This is when David came face to face with cognitive dissonance, and he was agitated. |

| "LIMITED?" I asked excitedly. "I already knew that." Manny Rey made the perfect Mr. Spock eyebrow arch. "It's the nature of human beings." Manny Rey nodded slowly. "So Rhonda and I won't be reaching a ripe old age together?" |

| 🏍️ While David Guardia had difficulty in getting his eyebrow to make that arch made famous by Leonard Nimoy as Mister Spock in various forms of Star Trek, Manny Rey made his effortlessly. After Manny Rey clarified things for him, David asked again to confirm he understood him correctly. |

| "That's not in the plans for Rhonda and you, My son," He said in a different tone, so I knew this was The Lord. "Then what are the plans for us?" I asked The Lord. "You have more to do, so I'm not done with you. Take ten." |

| 🏍️ Unlike with the first conversation, when he was in his 10-day coma, David Guardia was not surprised Thre Lord had come to speak with him. So if Rhonda Bella was meant only to be The Shieldmaiden for him, does that mean that he was going to become husband to a different woman? |

🏍️ Just like Moses was tasked with leading the Israelites out of Egypt to go to the Promised Land, David Guardia was going to be on the right side of his mission. Just like Moses made a mistake which caused him to never reach the Promised Land himself, David was not going to be living happily ever after. In fact, David is going to spend the final years of his life closer to Job, a man who once had everything a man could possibly ever have and want only to lose it all. The second half of Blue Lion and all of The Bronze will feature this aspect of David's later life. |

| 🏍️ Left open to interpretation is for how long David Guardia was going to have this happiness. Since he is going to endure unhappiness and loss during the final years of his life, it appears as if Rhonda Bella Guardia will give him just enough happiness with which to get through his final years. The happiness Rhonda will give David is what will get him through his future trials and tribulations. |

| "Honey, are you all right?" I had to shake my head before I realized the voice I heard was Rhonda's. "How long was I out?" She said about 30 seconds. "I met Manny Rey again. I told him you're the Shieldmaiden. He confirmed." |

| 🏍️ When David Guardia had his 10-day coma, his time sense perceived only 5 hours. This time, what seemed like a long conversation lasted half a minute. Time is funny this way, for all of us. Rhonda Bella Guardia will never know the details of David's meeting with the uncanny Manny Rey and The Lord, and David will be in a fog about those details until he is mentally ready to understand them; it will be many years before that moment arrives. |

| Rhonda was so overcome with emotion on hearing she was meant to be my Shieldmaiden that she planted a wet kiss on my bruised brow before bringing me to bed. I sensed there was more to tell her, only I wasn't sure what it was. |

| 🏍️ It's been said that ignorance is bliss, and for David Guardia this will be the case for a long time. In the case of Rhonda Bella Guardia, it will be the case for the rest of her life. In the short term, both David and Rhonda are going to focus on the here and now even as they prepare for a brighter tomorrow. |
