If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it .:. WorkerBee PH-Pool Week 165

It's crazy that it is Monday again, and the markets are going wild... again... I wouldn't notice that if I didn't do these report posts every Monday and lately, I was writing almost every time about BTC and crypto just because of these movements... I would probably do the same today if I wasn't triggered by the proverb from the title of this post...

My opinion could bring me a lot of hatred, but I have to vent out and try to show the other side of the coin... I like proverbs in general and many of them are thousands of years old and proven so many times, but still, that doesn't mean that they can be used on EVERY occasion... Sometimes they work, sometimes they don't... I would dare to say that those that are around for centuries are "time-proofed" and probably the older they are the more true they are... But... To find out more, we should research deeper... When and how is that proverb "created", in what surroundings, etc?

The proverb If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it was attested in 1962 and popularized by Bert Lance in 1977. You can check out more about him and the scandal in which he was involved on the Wikipedia page. When you are there, you can check out the short Wikipedia page about this proverb too, where you can find out the description of this saying:

If it ain't broke, don't fix it
Leave something alone; avoid attempting to correct, fix, or improve what is already sufficient (often with an implication that the attempted improvement is risky and might backfire).
I know it’s an ugly-looking antenna, but it gets the job done, and if it ain't broke, don't fix it.

What you can see in the last row is the RIGHT way to use this proverb... When you have something that does the job right, why would you change it...

What bothers me a lot is when people are using this proverb in a "wrong" way... In a way, this article by Johnny T. Nguyen explained the best.

The philosophy “if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it” shouldn’t be used as a shield to thwart change. Too many times in the face of innovation and change efforts, that phrase is thrown out before the idea is fully explored.

Despite being in crypto where changes are implemented daily, there are still people who like to use this proverb for crypto-related stuff... For example:
Why would we work on raising the number of maximum transactions on our chain when it works fine as it is?"
or
"Why would we change the current system if all (current) participants are happy?"

It's crucial to realize that we are so early in crypto that it's impossible that we have a FINAL PRODUCT in our hands... That we have a perfect coin, perfect blockchain, that doesn't need improvements, that can't be better... Wrongly used the proverb If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it kills the point of experimenting, kills the possible improvements, kills the curiosity (Yes, it can kill the cat, but it can be very useful to stay (be) curious 🙂)... and maybe the most important... kills the possibility for mass-adoption! When you are in your bubble, all comfy, everything is perfect FOR YOU, but that doesn't mean it is PERFECT for EVERYONE!

Maybe you have noticed that caveman that I added to the standard WB Pool image... If they implemented this proverb, we would still have a cube stone wheel... Because... it works...

What is your opinion about this proverb? Do you have an opposite opinion and why? Or do you have a similar view as me? Let me know in the comment section!

What about the bonus tokens?

This week, the bonus rewards are paid out in the CTPSB tokens! While the beginnings of the token are connected with the CTP tribe, after issues that the tribe had, the CTPSB token went in a different way which helped it to grow... Today, it is a completely independent project, mostly based and backed by Hive and HivePower... That gives it stability and slow growth... To be honest, I have several tokens in my HODLing portfolio as I like that way of thinking and developing...

There will be distributed 2.5 CTPSB tokens to the delegators of the pool as a bonus reward today!

As always, in the end, let's give the exact numbers for this week... There will be distributed 96 BEE tokens and 2.5 CTPSB tokens as a bonus... The APR (without the bonus) was 9.126%, and when we added the bonus it went up to 11.284%!

I have calculated the ROI approximately with medium prices for all tokens at the moment of creating this post... So, those numbers are valid if you bought WB and sold BEE tokens at the middle HiveEngine price...

Do you want to sponsor the PH-Pool with your tokens, receive a short SPONSORED segment in this post, and raise awareness about your front-end or dApp? Please let me know in the comment section, or contact me through Discord or Twitter and we will find the best solution for both parties...
