I notice that I write less and less about food. My last post in this community was about a month ago. I should write more, as food is one of my favorite topics :) 😋
I was recently in Rome on business and invited to dinner by my Roman colleagues. No extravagance, just classic and traditional Italian dishes.
All the food I've eaten anywhere in Rome has been excellent and extremely tasty. It was no different here. I didn't remember the name of the restaurant, but I was amazed.
Obviously, this is not my recipe but maybe just a recommendation or inspiration for someone to prepare dishes in this way or in this order.
First the first starter, meat.
A slice of prosciutto, a slice of Milanese salami, artichoke hearts, rucola and frittata.
Then the second starter, seafood.
Octopus, squid, prawns, and ricotta cheese wrapped in a slice of smoked salmon.
Next, risotto with prawns, parmesan, and parsley.
We continued with stuffed ravioli with cottage cheese, sun-dried tomato sauce, and porcini mushrooms.
And the main course, porchetta, with boiled potatoes, mashed zucchini, and roasted peppers.
At the end, a dessert, a delicious blueberry pie,
and sweet sparkling wine.
Simple and easy dishes that we make at home, nothing special that I haven't eaten before. But very tasty and nicely arranged. And that touch of Italian or specific Roman cuisine wins anyway.
As I mentioned at the beginning, maybe someone will have the idea to do something similar.
