We're keeping the no-brainer for the last folk! She started our spotlights last time, so it is only fitting that she end them this year. Without a doubt our most consistent member, and maybe the most creative. She writes, she draws, she plays roleplaying campaigns. Guys, gals, and non-binary pals, it is my pleasure to bring to you... 🥁🥁🥁

Mellster (but you can also call her Melli) has been a part of a D&D campaign with her friends since before I knew how to walk. Impressively, she's managed to chronicle this game in her writing with vivid detail capturing the spirit of a roleplaying adventure. Even more impressive is the amount of time she has kept up with it. Even more more impressive? Her constant and steady improvement as a writer. Even more constant than a Swiss watch I tell ya.
What? She can also draw? How is that fair? I dunno, life isn't fair. If you want further proof of this statement check out this absolutely humongous index of Mellster's works.
@mellindor's world and characters are vast. Her DM, @marydm, created the world and regularly put their group in peril. All for the sake of entertainment. For those unaware, yes, D&D DMs are sadistic. I love her snappy and quick-witted dialogue, apt for a party of adventurers. Of whom everyone knows Bruno is the best. But dialogue is not the only thing Melli is good at. Over the years her scene setting and action pieces have gotten substantially better written. So much so that I bet if I gave you a piece of hers from 2 years ago, you wouldn't be able to recognize it was her.
Mary couldn’t think straight. Whom did they know? Lilly and Bramble? What could they do with a warning like this? They weren’t influential people, they couldn’t warn anybody else. They were just… Lilly and Bramble. The only thing they could do was run away from the city.
The adventure is still ongoing so there's no real way of linking something that does not spoil something else. 😅 @mellindor dedication not only to her craft but to the world she and her friends have created, is something I have not seen on Hive. I am personally honored she has chosen Scholar and Scribe as the home for her adventures.
Suddenly, the dragon's real form burst out of the tavern, crumbling the whole building under her massive claws. She was feral now. Her movements were erratic, her eyes filled with fury and madness. She thrashed around and destroyed a few more of the nearby houses. Her sword--in its actual size now--flared up. She swung it wildly and cut down a few bystanders who’d come in her way.
A scribe, an artist, a friend. Scholar and Scribe wouldn't be the same without her. Mellster I wish nothing but 5the best for you and yours, and I hope you keep writing until you cannot write anymore. Your personal growth has been a gem to witness, and your talents are boundless. I hope your GM goes easy on you (or maybe not, we want a more compelling narrative after all). 😁 It is an absolute privilege to end this year's spotlights with you, ma'am. 🥂
