What Is GHAWG?
#GHAWG is short for "God's Hog: A Watchful Guardian." This fictional story tells how David Guardia, a courier and business owner from Bayonne, New Jersey, US moved into the next phase of his life after spending the final ten years of his ailing father's life helping him.

--"We don't know what happened," Rhonda began to explain to ER staff.
"We found this person on the road looking bloody and raw."
"I understand," said the doctor on duty.
"When it's billing time, reach me this way," I said.
🏍️ This is Part 2 of the Good Samaritan story which concluded the previous post. In the original version, included in the New Testament gospels, the person left for dead was taken to an inn for healing and recovery. For our time in history, the person left for dead needed to go to a hospital.
🏍️ 21st Century "health care" still requires patrons of its services to pay for services using some sort of "insurance" plan. Since David Guardia was on the road and paying for someone else, we can imagine that he made use of $HBD when he was notified of the bill.

By the time Rhonda and I reached Cedar Rapids, we picked up some riders. This trip to Sturgis was going to be one for the books, but not for reasons I expected when it began. Our crew was less than a two-day ride from Sturgis.
🏍️ From the moment he left Davenport, Iowa, David Guardia had been picking up riders. First of these was Rhonda Bella, his co-pilot. Some of these would stay with him after the motorcycle rally at STURGIS ended, and these I'll write more about when I can find a story for them.

"It would be amazing if we arrived at Sturgis 100-strong,"
I said to Rhonda.
"Sturgis is just the start of this journey for us."
"`Us` she said," I thought and smiled . Then we saw two
new bikers beating each other to a pulp.
🏍️ Rhonda Bella and David Guardia were both engaged in wishful thinking, but it was a fun thought they shared. What was real (within the context of #GHAWG) was that the ride to STURGIS would be just the beginning.

Last night a team failed to cover the spread. The guys disagreed on what was owed. I felt moved by The Holy Spirit to put myself between them. I said to them "You had bet on games. The Lord bets on you. When He wins, you win."
🏍️ Since the motorcycle rally at STURGIS takes place in August, it's possible that the brawlers had bet on Major League Baseball games. Also possible is that they placed bets on some local action. At least in theory, they may have even placed bets on international games such as futbol (English Permier League, Bundesliga, or Spanish League).
🏍️ As Jesus was looking for his disciples, among them were fishermen. This is where the quote along the lines of "You were fishermen. Now you are fishers of men" comes from. I wanted to include something analogous for #GHAWG.

Rhonda saw me with the brawlers, Hank & Frank.
"Are you OK?"
They saw Rhonda approaching us to stand by me.
They were awed by her height and her support of me.
Rhonda didn't need to do much more,
for which I was very grateful.
🏍️ Originally I was going to name the brawlers Hanz & Franz after the characters in a skit from Saturday Night Live from the 1980s and 1990s, but I didn't want to get into any legal trouble.
Hanz & Franz themselves were bodybuilders who hosted a program titled "Pumping Up with Hanz & Franz", and they wanted to "pump you up" so people no longer looked "girly men"; they also claimed Arnold Schwarzenegger as a distant cousin.

🏍️ Although David Guardia himself was short, Hank & Frank were closer to 6 feet (@ 1.83 meters) tall. Even so, Rhonda Bella towers over them like Darth Vader over one of the Minions from the Despicable Me movies.

We reached Waterloo on I380 before we made a beeline toward Sioux City on IA-20. More riders joined us on our excellent adventure. Riders from 18-81 joined us. We even had riders representing places as varied as Nigeria & India.
🏍️ If a message is good, its reach will be widespread. David Guardia is being used as a tool to deliver a message which resonates with people regardless of how they identify.
🏍️ Nigeria and India are well-represented on the decentralized social network running on Hive blockchain. The Nigerian (Lionel) and Indian (Sanjay) are students at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, which explains how they were able to join David Guardia on his ride to STURGIS. (These details came to me the other day, and they'll be featued in zapfic entries near the end of September or in early October.)

We took a break so we could recharge. I took that opportunity to give this message to our riders: "It's only by God's grace that I'm here with you, and you joined me. More than 2 of us are here in God's name, so He's among us."
🏍️ This zapfic entry concludes a series of them where David Guardia sounds a bit preachy. We have to remember that he nearly died and had what can be called an out-of-body experience where he was taken out of time to meet The Lord. He's acting as someone with the authority and conviction to persuade people that The Lord isn't mumbo-jumbo (as Han Solo thought the Jedi were).
(Before I get any complaints from people who truly had such experiences, I'm writing as a storyteller with decades of media exposure through movies and television; I myself never had any experiences of this sort.)

Story Arc So Far
Rhonda Bella and David Guardia don't waste time as they ride to STURGIS from Davenport, Iowa. They do the right thing as the Good Samaritan had done in the New Testament gospel parable. They break up a fight. Along the way more riders join them as they continue their ride to STURGIS. David reminds his ever-growing crew that The Lord is with them.
