Individualist Empire

We can see before our eyes that America is disintegrating, not necessarily as a country, but as a people. This is because in America, more than anywhere else, the cult of individualism reigns supreme...

Today's video is the first place I've ever heard the extreme focus in America on individualism described as a cult, and I agree completely with that assessment. I've called it many things in the past, among which "Individualistic Fundamentalism" and "Extremist Individualism", but maybe this "Cult of Individualism" is the best description of them all. My opinion on this is clear: I think it's a disaster and sad that so many Americans are fooled into thinking that individuals make society, instead of the other way around; society makes individuals. The only common cause the Americans have been presented with by their leadership since the Second World War is the common enemy, ranging from communist nations to South American so called dictators and Middle Eastern Terrorists; the American political and economical elite makes sure there's never a shortage of enemies because their entire economy is built on the military industrial complex.

But those common foreign enemies aren't nearly enough to counterbalance the polarization among the American people, the atomization of the almost non existent society. It's so sad to see protesters fighting against not only law enforcement but against fellow citizens as well. And it's also sad to read comments on my post about the shootings in Kenosha that actually defend the shooters, saying that all shootings were justified; this is insane and can to a large degree be explained by that cult of individualism which is accompanied, so it seems, by a severe lack of empathy. It must be their own fault, they should have listened to the police and not resist arrest, and comments like that... Since when is resisting arrest a justification for shooting someone in the back 7 times? And the defense of the 17 year old vigilante is even crazier; "he acted in self defense"... Sure, he defended against a guy attacking him with a skate-board, A SKATE BOARD, by shooting him in the chest... That's as insane as trying to defend that crime.

If you believe that "rugged individualism" is okay, it's no wonder that you classify anything that's done for all people (society) as communism or socialism, when in fact it's just common sense. No one should die because they can't pay for the medical bills. Period. The elderly need to be taken care of. When common people can count on the same medical care as the millionaires, billionaires and even the President, that creates a sense of society, a sense of belonging, a sense of togetherness. This is completely absent in American society where everyone's taught to "take care of number one" and to "pick themselves up by their bootstraps", and that everything is their own fault or their own accomplishment (both are untrue)... Well, this American empire of individualism is crumbling right along with American society. We can see it happen, and the below linked video explains why it happens.
