A Turn of Fate
As the afternoon sun rose higher in the sky, traders and buyers alike were busy in the art of buying and selling, everyone looking for a good bargain. It was our market day. The following day, the market square would be deserted again like a graveyard. I had to make good use of the rowdiness if I wanted Rashida to get better. -@kemmyb

The Race to Loop 13
Plan B wound around Jonathan's Winding, named for Major Jonathan Lofton who often used that indirect but scenic route to descend from his estate, Big Loft, southward 90 miles along the Blue Ridge to Fruitland, his elder brother's estate. Jonathan's Winding had been preserved and paved, with access made to the modern Blue Ridge Parkway in many places, but there were portions of it that still recalled the narrowness of the old manner of travel, portions that were still between a rock and a mile-deep place. -@deeanndmathews
The story called to mind the old movie Duel with Dennis Weaver. There's a truck driver that you never see, and it's creepy as all get-out. You maintained the tension throughout this story, and in the end justice is served, without the help or support of Sheriff Nottingham. Well done!! -@jayna

Just Down the Road
Greg knew that calling out for Don was useless, so he reluctantly retraced his steps, all the way backck to the beginning of the forbidden road. "Don!!! Let's GO!" Nobody answered.
In the last light he saw a shape next to the hole. It was a small tree which had not been there before. It was just about the same height as Don! -@wrestlingdesires
Nice touch with the glowing eyes at the end...:))
Did you ever think of writing YA literature? That's a lucrative genre.
Good story! -@agmoore

The Journey to Badala was Challenging
Soon, Herry was on the main highway leading to his destination, the famous hill town of Badala, at 4000 meters above sea level. Herry knew that to reach Badala from this place, one had to cross dangerous high-rise hills, and then there was a difficult 12-km route at the end where his company’s site camp was located. -@sunnyag
What a journey!
You take us through this winding and rainy journey. And in the end, Herry gets his wish. I truly love stories with happy endings.
Thank you for sharing your story, @sunnyag, i am glad i read it. -@bruno-kema

In Five Days
Why is it when someone's staring at you, it's like that look is touching you? The new nerd kid, right beside me this time. Did he know this was my usual spot? -@kaerpediem
Oh, beautiful! It's definitely the start of a new friendship! I love your story!
It's charming and entertaining. I like the rapport between the narrator and Trey Samuel. You definitely captured the lifestyle of teenagers in captivating scenes and words.
When I got to the end of the story, I could not believe it. I wanted more! -@kemmyb

The Lonely Stretch
The highway was dark and lonely, only a slice of the moon could be seen in the empty skies. In this part of town, nothing it seemed, lived. Those nocturnal sounds were absent. There were no chirping crickets and croaking frogs. There were no hooting owls and flying bats. Just a deep and intimidating silence. -@bruno-kema
The way you built the suspense I was expecting something unexpected and horrific to happen but was glad it didn't and the couple only had to settle for an unpleasant night cramped together in their car frustrated and helpless.
Nice story. -@davyjones7
