Last post about Street Art in Sète, about ten posts in all about this city which has many very great walls like the one by Seth (CCC's Street Art Contest #133) or by Ratur & Sckaro (Street Art Contest #131) thanks to MaCO, Musée à Ciel Ouvet. I didn't know if I was going to post the stencils of the artist La Dactylo because as they are puns in French, it's less interesting in English. But I'll try to explain them anyway because this artist is really talented, always the right word.

Dernier post sur le Street Art dans la ville de Sète, une dizaine en tout sur cette ville qui a de nombreux très bons murs comme celui de Seth (CCC's Street Art Contest #133) ou de Ratur & Sckaro (Street Art Contest #131) grâce au MaCO, Musée à Ciel Ouvet. Je ne savais pas si j'allais posté les pochoirs de l'artiste La Dactylo car comme il s'agit de jeux de mot en français, cela est moins intéressant en anglais. Mais je vais essayer de les expliquer quand même car cette artiste est vraiment talentueuse, toujours le bon mot.

The first stencil of this series is on the port, L'Été, un instant tanné which can be translated Summer, a boring moment. In French, there is a play on words between instantané et instant tanné (instantaneous). Less fun when you need an explanation 😀.

Optimisme matinal : Se Réveiller de bonheur (Morning Optimism: Waking Up Happy). Play on word bonheur (happiness) and bonne heure (early).

Born in 1991 in The Typist is a photographer who started her Instagram account by cutting out words taken in photos to make humorous sentences. Now she makes stencils to, according to her: " to put into words the absurdity of the world. " (source: galeriegallimard.com). And it's rather successful. I was happy when I saw one of her stencils in the streets of Sète.

Née en 1991 en La Dactylo est une photographe qui a commencé son compte Instagram en découpant des bribes de phrases prises en photo pour en faire une petite phrase humoristique. Puis par la suite, elle est passée au pochoir pour d'après elle : " de mettre en mots l’absurdité du monde. " (source : galeriegallimard.com). Et c'est plutôt réussi. J'étais content quand j'apercevais un de ses pochoirs dans les rues de Sète.

Je pastis avec le Diable (I make a pact with the Devil). Pastis : alcoholic drink with aniseed and pactiser and Pactiser make a deal. Almost same pronunciation.

Q.I Q.I Esprit volatile (IQ IQ Volatile mind). In French, the birds go "cui-cui" (chirp).

L'Amour, des Sables Emouvants (Love, Moving Sands). Quicksand = Sables mouvant.

The more I do the translations, the more I notice that this post and this artist are for French speaking people. As always, the translation makes the interest of these stencils completely lost. I'm finishing my post anyway.

Plus je fais les traductions, plus je remarque que ce post et cette artiste sont pour les personnes francophones. Comme toujours la traduction fait perdre complétement l'intérêt. Je termine quand même.

La Paix déménage (Peace is moving). Déménage = des ménages aka households.

Vous êtes ici, Vous êtes las (You are here, You are tired). Same pronunciation in French là / las there / tired.

Je m'attache à toi, lierre de rien (I'm attached to you, ivy of nothing). Again same pronunciation Lierre / l'air. I don't find good traduction of this French expression l'air de rien, maybe nonchalantly.

I hope it was still interesting for English speakers 🤞 but I'm not sure 😀. In French, it's worth following this artist to smile as you follow her posts. / FR : J'espère que cela était quand même intéressant pour les anglophones 🤞 pas sûr. En français, cela vaut le coup de suivre cette artiste pour sourire en suivant ses publications.
