During the Mural Festival in 2019, a group of artists had gathered to pay tribute to Alex Scaner aka Scan, artist and writer who died too soon in 2017. You can check it in my post StreetArt #213. Over the years, the lettering had suffered, not from tagging (huge Respect for Scan, almost all his walls are still visible and untagged in Montreal) but from the passage of time. The wall deserved a new version, which was produced this year.

Pendant le Mural Festival en 2019, un groupe d'artistes s'étaient réuni pour rendre hommage à Alex Scaner aka Scan, artiste et writer mort trop tôt en 2017. Vous pouvez aller voir ce mur dans mon post StreetArt #213. Avec les années, les lettrages avaient souffert, pas à cause de tags (beaucoup de respect pour Scan, presque que tous ses murs encore visible n'ont pas été taggués) mais du passage du temps. Cela méritait bien une nouvelle version qui a été réalisée cette année.

In this alleyway, the entire Street Art community pays tribute to Scan. I wrote a post about him a while back StreetArt #312. His 20 years of practice have left an indelible mark on the streets of Montreal. 6 years after his death, he's still with us. RIP...

Dans cette ruelle, c'est toute la communauté Street Art qui rend hommage à Scan. J'avais écrit un post à son sujet il y a quelques temps StreetArt #312. C'est 20 de pratique ont laissé une trace indélébile dans les rues de Montréal. 6 ans après sa mort, il est toujours présent. RIP...

WHERE

On Saint-Laurent Boulevard from Saint-Laurent metro station to Mont-Royal Avenue. Graffiti Alley** runs parallel to the boulevard between Avenue des Pins and Duluth. The Scan tribute ends at rue Saint-Cutbhert.

Sur le boulevard Saint-Laurent de la station de métro Saint-Laurent jusqu'à l'avenue Mont-Royal. La Graffiti Alley se trouve parallèle au boulevard entre l'Avenue des Pins et Duluth. L'hommage à Scan s'arrête au niveau de la rue Saint-Cutbhert.

We'll be walking down Graffiti Alley from the [ArtGang] store (https://www.instagram.com/agcmtl/) to St. Cuthbert Street. He's going to have a lot of photos (I counted 28) to show off all these letterings.

As soon as you round the corner, you'll see this set by musician and artist Sage (bottom right); above, Sober; (bottom left), it's Morz with trademark Mr Can Do; and above, Smak. And to top it all off, Deep.

Dès qu'on passe le coin de la ruelle, on voit cet ensemble réalisé par Sage, musicien et writer (bas droit); au dessus, Sober; (bas gauche), il s'agit Morz avec le "trademark" Mr Can Do; et au dessus Smak. Et pour couronner le tout Deep.

After the alley entrance presented on the Weekly StreetArt #068, Bibi Una has done it again for this staircase descent. As cool as ever.

Après l'entrée de la ruelle présentée lors du Weekly StreetArt #068, Bibi Una a remis cela pour cette descente d'escalier. Toujours aussi cool comme style.

Axe, Ewol, Sewer & F.One

In the middle of the alley, we find another set composed from left to right of Sewer, Ewol, an unknown artist with above Axe.

Au milieu de la ruelle, on retrouve un autre ensemble composé de gauche à droite de Sewer, Ewol, un artiste inconnu avec au dessus Axe.

I'm not 100% sure, but I'd say it's the work of Awe, member of the K6A collective. With lettering by Cone in the photo below.

Pito, Ekes, Killa EF & Serak (?)

My favorite part of the tribute with that raccoon, a bit of a magician. I think it's the work of Serak aka The Golden Rackoon, which fits perfectly. But usually Serak's letters are very legible in his lettering. And here they're not 🤔.

Ma partie du mur que je préféré avec ce raton laveur, un peu magicien. Je pense que c'est l'œuvre de Serak aka The Golden Rackoon, ce qui colle parfaitement. Mais généralement les lettres Serak sont très lisibles dans ses lettrages. Et ici ce n'est pas le cas 🤔.

Representing the GSM, Pito and Killa EF created these two superb, very gothic letterings.

It's incredible to see so many artists come together to create this long wall in memory of one artist. It says a lot about the influence Scan had on the Street Art community in Montreal (and elsewhere), that a real passion animated him and was contagious around him. I hope it wasn't too many photos all at once 😀.

C'est quand même incroyable de voir autant d'artistes se réunir pour réaliser ce long mur à la mémoire d'un artiste. Cela en dit long sur l'influence qu'a eut Scan sur la communauté Street Art à Montréal (et ailleurs), une véritable passion l'animait et était contagieuse autour de lui. J'espère que ce n'était pas trop de photos d'un seul coup 😀.
