FIGHTING FOR DAKO

"then I invoke ireke" I shouted without thinking twice of the decision.
That seemed to get his attention as he stopped abruptly and turned to face me again. Bearing down at me with eyes screaming of vengeance and thirst for blood, he accepted my challenge. That was when it dawned on me what I had just done.
Ireke was an ancient tradition between our people where the leaders of two communities in conflict battle, and whoever wins enslaved the other and his people. Everyone knew that Odubo was a better warrior than me and it would be a miracle for me to beat him. But now I had no choice than to perform that miracle as the fate of my people depended on it.- @diikaan

The Nightmare On Hummerlynne's Pass

Past the sign, there was a massive amount of loose rock and gravel blocking the road. A steep drop awaited should one slip or dislodge the loose rocks. It was difficult to tell just how far, because the flashlight's beam didn't reach the bottom.
Just as he decided to try it, one medium sized stone rolled from the cliff above. It bounced its way across the narrow road, then down - way down.
"Or maybe I'll just scout ahead on foot first," he thought. A shiver ran down his spine at the thought of driving over that treacherous stretch. Especially at night.- @wrestlingdesires

A Weekend in Vegas

The next morning while we were packing and preparing to get to the airport I remembered I hadn’t collect Nathan’s phone number. There was no way I was leaving without getting his number. I immediately left my suite and sprinted to his, hoping he had left yet. Mid way there I hit a brick wall and fell flat on the ground. I looked up and of course there he was looking at me, the brick wall I hit was his chest.
“I didn’t get your number”
“I didn’t get your number”
We both said simultaneously and laughed.- @madamnaomi

Ola and his people prepared early in the morning of the day and set out for the all important introduction. Oyiza dressed in her best dresses waiting for her fiance and his family.
They came and introduced themselves.
"We have come to seek the hands of your daughter in marriage to our son. These are the introductory materials as demanded."
The spokesperson of the entourage spoke on behalf of the family as he presented the items to Oyiza's family. Continuing, he said,
"We wish to also plead that the items on the list for the wedding be reviewed. Things are expensive, we beg for your understanding."- @lightpen

The Beauty of Not Rolling at Night

image.png

Alexander looks angrily at the driver. He glares angrily at the damaged tire. The couple in the back seat look at each other with love and enthusiasm, while their kisses roll passionately on a desolate road. After a few minutes, when tempers are about to get out of control, Alexander takes a deep breath and decides to walk away from where they are stranded. In the middle of the darkness, he looks at the starry sky and marvels at the beauty, which, due to the brightness of the artificial light in the city, is not possible to enjoy in such detail. He takes a few minutes to try to identify some of the star constellations and manages to clearly define the stars of Ursa Major, Ursa Minor, and Orion's Belt. He thanks the Supreme Creator for such a wonderful opportunity to contemplate such a beautiful night sky. - @fragozar01

Wild Girl

Little did she not realize that two terrifying eyes were looking at her from behind the bushes, it was a man heavyweight and six and a half feet in height, his face was painted in white and black, and a wooden arrowhead beside him. There was a dead animal hanging over his shoulder, instead of clothes on his body was a dress made of tree leaves, and he was wearing stone garlands and bracelets. He reached near Carol in a single jump, seeing him, Carol screamed. The man quickly took Carol in his lap and started running into the deep forest with great speed.- @fantom22
