We're going back to the Legal Wall de Rouen in Montreal in September. Lots of activity on the two large walls of this viaduct. The works changed rapidly over the month, with something new to discover almost every day. We're only 4 days after StreetArt #657, everything has changed except Mr Can Do by Scan, his murals have been highly respected in all the city since his passing in 2017.

Nous retournons au Mur Légal de Rouen à Montréal au mois de septembre. Beaucoup d'activités sur les deux grands murs qui composent le viaduc. Les œuvres ont changées rapidement pendant ce mois, presque chaque jour il y avait quelque chose de nouveau à découvrir. Nous sommes seulement 4 jours après StreetArt #657, tout a changé sauf Mr Can Do de Scan, ses murales sont très respectées depuis sa disparition en 2017.

Here's the best part (in my opinion) of the viaduct for the day with Korb and Axe. Shame about the cans lying on the sidewalk but maybe they were cans left with paint still on them so the younger ones could practice. I'll give you the benefit of the doubt 😀.

Voici la meilleure partie (à mon avis) du viaduc pour cette journée avec Korb et Axe. Dommage les cans qui trainent sur le trottoir mais peut-être qu'il s'agissait de cans laissées avec encore de la peinture pour que les plus jeunes puissent s'entrainer. Je laisse le bénéfice du doute 😀.

WHERE

On rue de Rouen at railway level in Montreal. Just a reminder: Mur légal Rouen is a place where artists can draw in peace, as the activity is permitted by the city. The red lines on the map represent other walls where Street Art can be found.

Juste pour rappel Mur légal Rouen est un endroit ou les artistes peuvent dessiner en toute tranquillité car l'activité est permise par la Ville. WHO

We start our walk under this viaduct as usual, with this lettering surrounded by two rusks (but are they really rusks?) by an unknown artist. I decipher Annk but no information found...

Nous commençons notre balade sous ce viaduc comme d'habitude, avec ce lettrage entouré de deux biscottes (mais est-ce vraiment des biscottes ?) par un artiste inconnu. Je déchiffre Annk mais aucune information trouvée...

Penar

Right next to it's a regular of these walls Penar with green letters and a bicycle wheel 😀.

Juste à côte se trouve un habitué des lieux Penar avec des lettres vertes et une roue de vélo.

Korb

In the middle of the first wall, Korb, member of the Crazy Apes crew, did this superb lettering. My camera doesn't like the dark, and in the center of the viaduct in the early morning, the light wasn't great. Too bad, because the style is really cool.

Au milieu du premier mur, Korb, membre du collectif Crazy Apes a laissé ce superbe lettrage. Mon appareil photo n'aime pas trop l'obscurité et au centre du viaduc en début de matinée, la luminosité n'était pas top. Dommage car le style est vraiment cool.

Axe

Right next door. Axe aka Axel Lalime, a Montreal StreetArt veteran, left his letters in the world of Dark Crystal, a reference to the film or the new series (I didn't get hooked, just watched part of the first episode).

Juste à côté. Axe aka Axel Lalime, un ancien du StreetArt sur Montréal, a laissé ses lettres dans l'univers de Dark Crystal, référence au film ou à la nouvelle série (je n'ai pas accroché, juste regardé un partie du premier épisode).

And a Skeksis, the villains of the film and series, is really well done. / FR : Et un Skeksis, les méchants du film et de la série, est vraiment très bien fait.

We end this first wall with another beautiful lettering by an unknown artist. The style rings a bell. But it's impossible to find the name. Plus, there are lots of references all around like Kare Duc... but nothing 😢.

Nous terminons ce premier mur avec un autre très beau lettrage d'un artiste inconnu. Le style me dit quelque chose. Mais impossible de retrouver le nom. En plus, il y a beaucoup de références tout autour comme Kare Duc... mais rien 😢.

We cross Rue de Rouen to see the second wall. / FR : Nous traversons la rue De Rouen pour aller voir le second mur.

Oma Nut & HER

The wall begins with a superb portrait Oma Nut with the word Damage repeating in the background, a reference to the song Idles by the band The Beachland Ballroom (if you want to listen to YouTube).

Le mur commence avec un superbe portrait Oma Nut avec pour fond la répétition du mot Damage, référence à la chanson Idles du groupe The Beachland Ballroom (si vous voulez écouter YouTube).

Another portrait right next to it was done by HER whose style is easily recognized with those big-eyed characters outlined in white. The portrait was completed thanks to Omar Bernal like a magazine cover with the names of artists such as Stare, Axe and again Mr Can Do from Scan on the bottom left.

Un autre portrait juste à côté a été réalisé par HER dont on reconnait le style facilement avec ces personnages aux grand yeux soulignés d'un trait blanc. Le portrait a été complété grâce à Omar Bernal comme une couverture de magazine avec le nom de quelques artistes comme Stare, Axe et de nouveau Mr Can Do de Scan sur la gauche en bas.

Vulvette Underground & Wolf

Other regulars on the viaduct, Vulvette Underground painted this part followed by Wolf, artist and tattooist, in a completely different style with this Mickey in a rather difficult situation. But he keeps smiling, professional until the end 😀.

Encore des habitués des lieux, Vulvette Underground a peint cette partie suivi de Wolf, artiste et tatoueur, dans un style complétement différent avec ce Mickey dans une situation assez difficile. Mais il garde le sourire, professionnel jusqu'au bout 😀.

Unknown (Okrim & Culprit)

Two letterings follow, again by unknown artists. As the Legal Wall de Rouen is open to all, artists passing through Montreal can also make a few letters. It's always cool to see different styles.

Deux lettrages suivent, encore des artistes inconnus. Comme le Mur Légal de Rouen est ouvert à tous, des artistes de passage à Montréal peuvent aussi aller réaliser quelques lettres. Toujours cool de voir des styles différents.

Olivier Bourbonnais

And we end with Olivier Bourbonnais and his tribute to the famous Beavis and Butt-Head series, renamed Buttcold and Beervis. Too bad there are a few red tags.
