Warhammer 40k - Unit Review Library 89 - Orks, Zodgrod Wortsnagga

Source

Hello everyone! Zak Ludick here from Cape Town, South Africa and this is a Warhammer 40k - The Great Unit Review Wheel! post!

Now known as the Unit Review Library!

What is it all about? It is not there to just give a stat. It is there to give MY review of the unit!

In this series, I will review one unit at a time, picking them randomly.

So let me spin the wheel again and see what I get:

Orks, Zodgrod Wortsnagga

10th Edition Codex

Zodgrod Wortsnagga is an Epic Hero. He is a Runtherd, which means that it is his job to herd and look after the Gretchen slaves that Orks employ where-ever they go. Gretchen are found anywhere Orks are, they also spore.

Zodgrod Wortsnagga seems to experiment and modify his Gretchen and makes them stronger than normal gobbos.

He is 80pts to field and costs $45 new out of the box.

Let's see his stats!

Stats

Movement 6"
Toughness 5
Save 5+/6+++(armor/invul/Feel No Pain)
Wounds 5
Ld 7+
OC 1

Weapons

Ranged:

Squigstoppa
12" Range, 1 Attack, Hitting on 5+, S4, Ap-1, 1 Damage each
Anti-Monster 4+, Pistol
(A pistol that... when it hits... can wound any monster 50% of the time... and deal one damage... ok...)

Melee:

Da Grabzappa
5 Attacks, Hitting on 2+, S7, Ap -2, 2 Damage each

Abilities

Super Runts

This is how Zogrod buffs the Gretchin:

  • The unit has the Scouts 9" Ability. This means that before the battle begins, the unit can move 9" in any direction. They cannot move within 9" of an enemy while doing so though.
  • Add 1 to the Hit roll and add 1 to the Wound roll for all models in this unit. This buffs the Gretchen and himself as well.
  • When they get attacked, those attacks are at -1 from on the Wound roll.

A note is that Gretchen are either 10 Gretchen and a Runtherd or 20 Gretchen and 2 Runtherds, this plus Zogrod.

Thoughts

I have fought Zogrod before. He is a pain in the backside because Gretchen are a screening and claiming unit, preventing you from counter attacking the Orks at a critical time.

And timing is everything when dealing with the Green Beast. When Zogrod is used properly, he is used where he and his Gretchen can be most in-the-way.

That makes only 3 Ork Datasheets Reviewed putting them on 5.7% Completed! The total Completed on 9.16% Complete! Can I review them all?!

Thank you for reading!
