A Quest For Redemption...

"It's a time travel machine. It only grants your wish when your intention of travelling back and forth in time is pure. It won't work for personal or selfish reasons. Just place your hands on it and think of the time you want to travel to," Agatha explained how to use the machine and bid William goodnight.

"I can expose the culprit with this," William stuttered immediately after his mother left the room.

He paced about his bedroom and thought about different things before returning to bed that night.

I have always found solace in turning the pages of books

“There, you have it ma. I could go on asking her words, and she in turn will keep answering. Your daughter is very qualified to go for this competition.”

My mother asked for some time with me alone then turned to me. “Treasure, I know you don't want to go to this competition, is this man forcing you?”

My mother didn't know half of what I wanted at the time. I had worked hard for this, spending late nights going through the dictionary, scouting for tough words to ace the preparatory test given to me and the other pupils who were mostly three years older than I was.

Humanity Isn't Ready

Professor Larkins nodded. "I watched you after that. And looked into your past too. You didn't seem to think anything of it, it's just a part of who you are. I was in need of an assistant who was not only brilliant, but also willing to put the right thing above everything. Nobody else even came close."

David grinned, and handed the picture back.

Professor Larkins grinned back, and leaned forward. "How about we see what things are like in a couple of hundred years?"

The Aftermath of Adenine's Travel.

Like a ballet dancer, she moved her feet up and sliced the creature's knee. A deep groan resounded from the creature's lips as it flung her across the right side of the cave. With her feet up as fast as a thunder, Adenine launched an attack again, hitting the creature on its jaw with the kitchen knife she had held before...

The wave of the blow she missed from the creature pushed her backwards, but Adenine took her stance and attacked immediately, cutting the creature in half. Blue blood gushed out, splattering over her.

"Yuck!" She sputtered out before running out of the cave.

"The clock house"

"Remember that pact we made to return to the strange house in the woods?" whispered Carol.

"I thought they had forgotten about it," Frank answered hesitantly.

"It's a pact in the name of our friendship," said Jenna as she blew on a cup of coffee.

And so after an intense discussion on the subject, Carol, Jenna and Frank decided to go back to that place.

"It could be the best or the worst decision of my life," Frank said over and over again as they headed back to the house.

Journey to the present

William meditated on the déjà vu and understood that he was an avid reader in the great library, in that place they call life.

“Tell me, why did you jump into the void?”

“So, it was written.”

“Don't deceive me! Tell me the real reasons! Do you have no free will? Then what is the purpose of living?”

“Don't bother me with your questions! I didn't write your book of time! Dedicate yourself now, rather, to living your moment.”

"How many moments like this exist?"

Journey Through Time And Friendship

Is there a way to save her? Dr. Reynolds wondered, her fierce loyalty to her friend served as a strong force driving her. She sipped on her coffee, staring out the window of her lab, her gaze settling on the neon-lit streets below. It looks chaotic yet beautiful. It was one of her inventions.

What if she could harness the power of technology to restore life? She pondered again. She could save Emily and others like her at the brink of death. But was it possible to create life?

These questions filled her mind, she shook her head and took another sip of her hot coffee.
