So close and yet so far away
"As long as you don't go out, you'll be fine, mom. -I tried to convince her that she herself was an island, a cloud, a tree in the middle of the desert. Sometimes Mom would look at me and I realized that she was incredulous, that she knew that death was at work and that it was only a matter of time:
"I'm the one who's going out. You stay locked up,” she ordered every day, and my mother looked like a punished child, locked in her room.

Dreams Might Just Be A Coincidence
On our way home, I shared the dreams I had the night before with my mum, dad, and Christine. In the dream, my English teacher got fired, and one of the female cooks at school used the student's toilet.
"It means she'll lose a loved one," Christine interpreted. She had a good understanding of dreams and their interpretations, even though she never dreamt herself.
"Don't put faith in such things; they're superstitious," Dad advised. I wanted to mention that I dreamt of Aunt Rita's passing, but then Mum squeezed my hand and whispered, "Don't argue with your dad."

Starry Longing
I don't know how to describe it exactly, but once I went through it, everything was quiet. I entered a sudden calm that chilled all my fear. I was no longer haunted by the spirits and I had the photo of Sena still with me. Even the fog had disappeared.
The silver coin in the sky was shining and my guts kept growing. Each step felt like a victory. I could clearly see the last set of trees that separated me from Ur Lake. I didn't quite know why I sensed Sena was there, but I never doubted either.

A Tale Of Fear & Love
"Babe, are you there?" Richard said, knocking on the door.
"Honey, is that you?" Folakemi muttered.
"Yes, please open the door. Everyone is worried about you," he replied.
"We might be making a mistake, honey. I have seen signs, and they make me scared."
"Those are mere superstitions," Richard replied.

Creatures Of The Forest
“Then that's all they are Honey. Superstitious beliefs.” Rick gently rubbed her back.
“No. I saw it with my own eyes. The creatures of the forest are real and they are very bad omen.” she withdrew and looked into his eyes with sadness in hers. “That is why we never went to the forest alone as kids. It is said that if you ever see a creature of the forest, you may not survive to see the next day.”

A TRIP TO THE MUSEUM
As we walked deeper into the museum in search of the sacred room, we came across a room with a sign posted "Out of Bounds". It piqued our interest. Sneakily, we opened the door, cringing a little as the creaking noise of the door disrupted the silence we were desperately trying to keep. Inside the room was pitch black, the air smelled of dust and rot. I couldn't help but feel a shiver run down my spine. I quickly turned on the flashlight from my phone, in desperate need to see some brightness. I glanced by my side to see Sarah already some steps ahead of me.
"I think we should go back, this place creeps me out" I said to Sarah, who was eagerly searching for a broken mirror.
